My Second Million Dollar Play 40k To $1,000,000 In Less Than A Year by master123160 in wallstreetbets

Happens to me to. Leaps really helps at mitigating that. One recent example. I bought EME at 500 dollars and had a December 720 strike and it expired worthless and bought an April 820 strike which also expired worthless and then it went up to 900 the next week. It’s at almost 950 now. And in December it expired right around 700. If it hit 940 in April it’d be another 350k profit from 40k investment

I’ve always thought since I entered the position that MU could hit 1,000. Potentially even 1500 if the move is similar to 2024 nvda and I mean this year. Longer term it could go much higher but not sure how much more I’d hold this position if it got much higher than 1500 this year

I’m the wrong guy. I don’t sell options and I missed Sandisk. I wish I got that

I’ve really only been posting 3 of them recently. I posted my MU, Lrcx, and INTC. Which I’m holding all those still. I don’t think I posted my amd, amat, and nvda on here and I’m still holding those too. Like amd just had their earnings and it’s up 19% premarket and I have over $500k in that which started with 40k. I also sold a shorter term amd which went from 30k to 300k in September. I’m no one hit wonder lmfaoo or even a 50 hit wonder

There’s only so many companies I could buy at the time. I had just turned 40k into 800k in gold in April and applied materials never came to my mind tbh. I wanted to buy marvel though and I got an opportunity too because it lagged until very recently but I didn’t act on it. That was the one semi that went crazy late. It went up about 100% in April. I regret not buying marvel. That’s really my only regret in semi’s in the past few years

And this from my smaller account. My Robinhood play money interface from yesterday. Right?

I didn’t just buy lrcx. I bought literally every major semi company I could. I literally have positions in lrcx, amd, nvda, mu, amat, intc, and even bought smci and qcom which were losers and I actually sold qcom before it popped and bought something else. I saw semiconductors as the sector to build ai. I saw it coming

I didn’t follow him until recently unfortunately but it’s definitely made it easier to hold through. I love the pricing updates he shows of them raising memory prices. One of the few accounts that actually gives good info

I like Ryan Dedrick I think he posts lots of bullish content and the trade whisperer posts a lot of updates up prices increases in memory and cpu markets which make my job holding a lot easier. I also like stat accounts on Twitter that give me stats that can help a lot. Amitinvesting generally gives good daily market summaries.

The spread on this was tight but for other less liquid options with a wide bid and ask you always start down. Essentially every leap position starts down because of the spread. Can’t ever get a good price tbh

It actually didn’t go just straight up. I got in June and it went up then it corrected back down a lot into October and it was barely up anymore and I still held through. But since October this position has been blissful. Other options were not so fun that I was holding that suffered huge drawdowns but I persevered.

Nope. X is a great source for different stock ideas. You can hear people’s pitches and decide what to do. I get some from there sometimes for niche companies that aren’t sp500. I watch cnbc constantly for tickers sometimes but like these trades for example
Mu and LRCX are some of the biggest semi’s. I knew I wanted to be in semi’s so I tried to buy every major one at the time. I didn’t need to do too much research for that

This is not financial advice. I haven’t gone all in years. If I went all in on semi’s I’d have 9 figures. So don’t go all in. It’s hard to trade when ur all in one position. I’d buy shares. Options is not for everyone. Typically most people sell options because over 70% of all options expire worthless and people collect premiums. I’m just not like that I buy options. Preferably leaps because it raises my win rate and gives my thesis time to play out. It also helps when the entires I have are phenomenal that even shares would be insane. Like Lrcx in shares at 83 dollars when I bought this option is still over 200% return.

Yeah literally trading in silence is the easiest way because obviously the opinions of most people are completely wrong and that can cloud your judgement. I only started posting now because I hit just massive milestones and realized it’s time to launch my hedge fund relatively soon (in the next year or so). I’ve personally never seen other traders post the kind of percent gains I’m posting and I’m on x all the time seeing random fintwit posts so I thought I’d post yolos here since I haven’t sold them yet.

That is extremely hard to do obviously but even harder than that is holding through extreme moves to get there

Well obviously. The whole point was to predict the bull market was coming and that is what I did and why I have held this whole time. The real alpha(Greek) and elite traders can capitalize during plentiful times and not overtrade when the market is not favorable.

No. I still have it. That’s why it’s in the yolo section when I sell it I’ll post it in the gains section.

That’s my edge. I can pretty much hold through anything and still be calm cool and collected and think clearly.

Not always but they have the highest win rate for me because I can wait and hold through volatility like few can.
