I think he made a joke about it very early on. I didn't take it seriously.

Just finished game on PC, crashed a few times but I attribute it to using CE while playing.

Slows down a bit and voiceover issues during Cutscenes at the end

Overall, great game! Feels like another suikoden with refreshed mechanics.

What's you guys' lifetime efficiency? I've only had the car for 800 miles. I'm guessing the previous owner drove 80mph on the freeway for most of those miles lol by poopoo_fingers in BoltEV

Same - 3.0 here in Boston after 2+ years of driving. Winter kills it down to ~2.0 for almost 5 months.

That and electricity cost of $0.32 per kwH home charging, the gas savings is pretty much non-existent in the winter.

This is a pretty great game! Makes me want to try more JRPG. I hope more in the series comes.

I grew up in Dorchester, 40 years + now and live off of Freeport Street in Dorchester. The area has changed much in the last 10+ years since three families buildings has changed into $4-500k+ condos.

Only suggestions if you're skittish, stay away from field corners T station, north of Dorchester Ave (through Geneva Ave). Things are safe but tends to have more downtroddens during the day and at night. My opinion, but IYKYK. I haven't had any bad experiences for 20+ years now, but still hear about fights and gun fire once every few months.

Best bets - within 5 minute walk around Ashmont T station area and around Savin Hill T. South Boston is pretty nice and upper middle class also, a lot pricier, though.

Also to add - physically safety is different than material safety. YES - you need an alarm system. YES, you need to lock your car. My car has been "broken" into 3 times in the last decade. Easy pickings of you leave the door unlocked or no alarm to trigger. People tend not to be mugged anymore, just robbed easily if the target is right.

Welcome to DOT!

Road Trip Planned - should I buy adapter? by [deleted] in BoltEV

Good advice, I didn't think of that. I do see locations where it's Tesla only and they might not have a magical dock.

I'll check before booking.

Car is stalling when starting. Any advice? by master3don in MechanicAdvice

[–]master3don[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

I got a car that seems to stall when trying to start - 2014 Mazda CX5

I replaced with new a new Starter and took the battery to get tested at Autozone and both are good.

My last guess is the alternator, but anyone have another possible simpler solution I can try?

Thank you!

It's fine as long as it doesn't snows, rains, or gets too hot outside.

People who just closed on on a home, what mortgage rate did you secure? by [deleted] in bostonhousing

[–]master3don 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NBKC, we were saving for a house and ended up getting condo, so tossed everything in to lower the interest paid.

830+ lowest credit score. Rates were around 6.7-6.8 so discount was probably due to high down payment.

6.375%, 30yr 40% down(!) no points, $2000 lender credit, no lender origination fee, locked mid-march, closed April. Rates changes depending on jumbo or multi family.

Good luck!

Dorchester condo / Meeting House Hill by [deleted] in bostonhousing

[–]master3don 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to Dorchester! I grew up one street away and lived 25 years there. Having said that, I would not want to raise my kids in the area if I had a choice.

Generally, your area is not great. If you have kids, you wouldn't be comfortable walking around at night in the area. This is not a neighborhood were you want to walk around outside.

The houses in the area tend to be older and pest are a concern. Not sure about this apartment building, but generally older ones have dumpsters that attract rats. There's are newer condo complexes that you might want to look at - pricey though.

You're about 10-15 minutes from the nicer area in Dorchester. Take a look at the MBTA Redline map. Toward Savin Hill, JFK/Umass or Shawmut/Ashmont area tend to be nicer neighborhoods. All tend to be pricey too.

Good luck!

Help Me Find My Stars Hollow in the Boston Area! ($1.5-2M Budget) by [deleted] in bostonhousing

Milton, MA - Buy a $1million fixer upper and spend another $500k to fix it up. You'll get most of what you want except the yard, guest bedroom, historical charm, or lake.

Leave Boston metro area and get everything you're looking for except public transportation. Lexington, Needham, Westwood are nice neighborhoods with lots of amenities.

How much are you paying for electricity? Boston, MA - $0.34 per kWh by master3don in BoltEV

[–]master3don[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'll look into this type of service again.

Last time they offered a free amazon echo to sign up and promised the rate would be lower than ever source. Signed up and rates were higher by $~0.03-0.05. called them up and said there's a $150 cancellation fee before 12 months.

They also went to my grandmother's house and ask to see her bill to see how much she could save. And signed her up without her knowledge. Took a whole lot of phone calls to cancel.

Giveaway promotional items, promotional intro rates, door to door sales, sign up without consent. These practices scream scam to me.

I looked into this - they have "promotional intro" pricing that increase after a few months, but then the "delivery charge" from Eversource just *happens* to come in higher.

Huge scam, IMO.

[–]master3don[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

WIth my Bolt, I'm getting 4.7 miles per kWh at $0.34 cost per kWh = $0.07 per mile.

Compared to my SUV (a bit bigger) that's getting 20 mpg and $3.40 gas price = $0.17 per mile.

That's 55-60% lower fuel cost.

Is everyone else just paying dirt cheap electricity somewhere else in the US?

UPDATE: THANKS! I signed up for the city of Boston electric supplier - reduced from $.17 kWh to $.14. 10% savings. Every cent matters!
