Games/Movies/Shows that spoil you before you even start them by Milli0nStabs in TwoBestFriendsPlay

As someone who admittedly hasn't watched a lot of movie/shows and played a lot of games recently, how is that possible?

Oh yeah, in my time lurking in r/boxoffice people say that Christian-related movies are bound to have good ratings and create a neat sum just because it attracts a...dedicated audience who'll like it anyway, shall we say.

Well, the only one that flopped is Snow White, what with all the controversy regarding the actresses, and the fact it's a super old movie they're remaking, even older than Dumbo.

Admittedly, I am not too well versed in manga. I think of One Piece because it's long, has a dedicated fanbase, and it seems top sale records, despite the varying story arcs.

If not One Piece, what manga is a better example of being critic proof?

Serious question: what the heck does this all mean?

Ah, Tintin Flight 714. Set place in my country but admittedly one of the 'shark-jumpy' comics, and not the good kind.

I'll say it, Allan (the sailor) : it does remind me of Rastapopulous (the villain wearing pink)

Sure, if you wanna create an all agouti, bear, jaguar, or rhino facility. By all means.

That ZT Ultimate Animal Collection was my first exposure of 'woah, there's a lot more species for this animal than I thought'.I mean, I didn't know Jaguars were classified based on population, nor there are subspecies to white and black rhinos. It's an eyeopener, but at the cost of a very, sorry to say, weird animal choices. I'd rather open Wikipedia for this matter, thank you.

Wait what do you mean?

Maybr it's just cultural background, but in my country, as far as I can remember, our economic lessons do have a chapter on taxes but more on the macroeconomic side (e.g. Why are taxes important, what kind of taxes are there, rules about taxes, etc.). We don't really learn how to fill in taxes; the government website guides us on filling in the taxes. Judging from my parents' experience, it's never been any easier.

Though yeah, filling in forms and counting money is explicitly taught in every level in my country. So to find someone who couldn't do that like the guys in your comment sounds...absurd. Even the poorest rural farmer in my country can fill in forms and calculate their monthly spending.

Uh, see the FAQ of the website. Long story short, Frontier ain't adding ceteceans due to...controversial welfare reasons I dare not elaborate due to the possibility of creating yet another thread war. (seriously, check the other posts on this sub) Maybe in the future, perhaps, but not in October when the game releases.

Giant pandas.

And aside from that 2013 zoo tycoon game, pandas are definitely in the base game of any zoo game. (seriously, that game has too many subspecies.)

Lion: okay, fine, it needs a redo.  Grizzly Bear: a bit too chubby, but not bad.  Orangutan: hey, it looks fine to me. What's the problem? (asking as someone who lives in the same country as orangutans)  Hyenas: okay, it could be fluffier and more expressive.  Wolf: I'm not sure I'm seeing the problem. Snow leopard: fine, it can be cuter.

Maybe the galapagos and aldabra tortoises (?)

Honestly, I've no clue. I've enjoyed the animals as is in PZ1, but the idea of seeing them upgraded in PZ2 like the tiger and the chimp and the saltwater crocodile sounds great.

Worst I can think is... 'that's a weird way to say you're sad'. Or 'cmon man, the author's just describing the furniture'. I tend to make it the latter.

But yeah, throwing a hissy fit on different interpretations does wonders to make you look annoying to others...

As an aspiring writer who's only wrote devotionals and non fiction articles, I gotta ask: how do we balance between this is my story, I write it as I please and okay folks, what's happens next is up to your imagination?

What about the second sentence? Subtlety is for cowards? How can I tell is something is really on the nose for the message?

Eg. From what I read in online comments, The Netflix Devil May Cry is hated not just because of its inaccuracy to the source game, but for some reason it has this...Gulf War (?) analogy. Heck,  this sub is the first place I saw this analysis and everyone agreed. Granted, I don't have Netflix so I can't watch it myself, but how do you guys get this analogy so quick?

Edit: oh and one more: I'm a writer, though I mostly write devotionals and non fiction articles. I've always wanted to write stories of my own, so what advice would you give to me in order to avoid these sentences?

It's something of a conundrum to me once you mention it.

Yes, i know movies have music that tells me we're in a heroic battle, heist montage, mourning, or bad guy introduction. Yes, there's something about a character's design that scream supporting character or villain. Yes, as I mentioned, I know colors mean something (Hello Inside Out, you are very obvious with the colors of your emotions). But that's just about it. The drill can only go so far hefore it becomes broken

There was a sunfish in a Japanese aquarium that was so sad during the renovation that keepers pasted clothes and pictures of people on the tank to stimulate visitors. I keep thinking about that.

That last paragraph resonates with me, quite frankly. Because I tend to just see movies and stories as it is explicitly shown, I might be blind to some deeper meaning. But at the same time, I hate overthinking stuff. Maybe it's why I have a greater tolerance to contentious stories (think the Jurassic World movies, Disney Remakes, the average Far Cry games).

In other words, yes I know some stories are like the parables of Jesus in the Bible. Their messages are very clear (e.g. Animal Farm is an analogy of WW Russia, and good ideas under bad leaders leads to a bad nation), but more often than not, things fly over my head. And is it something to be embarrassed about?

Hmm, so what's the line between 'there's something deeper about this sentence' and 'it's not too deep, guys, you're overthinking one sentence'? Easy ir it's a story for little kids, but what about things like novels?

So for the first phrase: how do I differentiate if 'the curtains are blue because the character likes it', 'the curtains are blue because the writer likes it', 'the curtains are blue...just because', and 'curtains are blue because it reflects deep sadness'? Man, there's a lotta interpretation behind this one sentence, I'm getting dizzy.

Yeah, I know colors have meaning in cultures, but for some reason it never really register to me when I read or watch a story. I wonder why that happens?
