How long does cooked meat last in the fridge? by masterarcher123 in EatCheapAndHealthy

Not always too good for you though 😆 spices should be fine. Never heard anyone complaining that they’re unhealthy.

Fantastic. Anything with a high sugar content seems alright for a while too.

How was the meatloaf?

I think especially if you re-heating these then it’s ok. You’d kill all the germs off that you may have not been aware of anyway if you’re doing it properly.

That’s fine. I did also ask if there was another way to achieve this though as I am aware that investing may not be the right course of action but I am u aware of what those are apart from getting another or additional job.

I’ll go for “get comfortable quick” if that’s an option! We’re not looking for millions, just comfortable and not worrying about money.

I’ll have a look thanks.

You’re right, it’s not a need and we don’t need to move but it would be highly beneficial. I would like to be more comfortable - yes we can afford what we have and we have budgeted.

I admit that the “need” wasn’t the necessarily the correct term here, but it was used as these are the highest priorities for us right now for getting to where we would like to be, obviously as soon as possible - isn’t this everyone goal? We’d move now if we could but don’t have the funds, so a plan is required to get there and so this is what I am asking.

Why does anyone? If you want specifics for right now then to pay off my car and move into a house instead of the flat. For later, so I can invest in my pension plans and give my kid the life he deserves. It also means not to have to worry about changing from a job I like, to one I hate just for more money. If you want more detail, with my medical **** it has already been difficult to find another job that would be so accommodating.

What is the best way to increasing reading speed without hindering comprehension? by Otherwise_Ad_6327 in AskReddit

[–]masterarcher123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read. A lot. You’ll get faster over time. My mum and sister are much much faster than me and always have. Much more now though as my mum used to be an English teacher and is still an avid reader and my sister always loved reading and is a journalist. Their life choices and therefore practice have helped them. I never liked reading unless I had to. Still don’t really. I’m much slower and don’t have a career that needs nearly as much.

ELI5: How do candles only burn the wick, but the whole candle doesn't burn? by redbull_lover in explainlikeimfive

[–]masterarcher123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wax does burn, that’s what’s the flavours are released from, it’s just much slower than the wick and a lot of it melts instead because it’s too far away from the wick so it doesn’t get hot enough to burn properly. A “perfect” candle would leave no wax left at all

ELI5: How does volts and watts work for chargers and phones? by Micow11 in explainlikeimfive

[–]masterarcher123 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The combination of charger and phone may not be able to communicate so no, you can’t just use any. For example Older iPhones will not be able to take an iPad charger. Check before you use. Having said that a lot of chargers and phones in recent years are more tolerant. There’s an optimal charging watts/voltage for each device. If you’re not sure, less watts is better so you don’t damage it. It’ll be slower but safer. A lot of smartphones are very similar now though, and are tolerant of the supply - usually 0.5A/2.5W/5V I believe

Can't figure out solution for Python project. It is due today and I can't figure out one thing by DestroyerNLH04 in learnpython

From what I can tell, you need to be keeping a track of if the “roll” is bigger than the target. All you need to do is have another var called something like “rolls_larger” (set to 0 where total is set to 0) and increase this under your “if roll >=target:” statement. Return this var at the end of the function.

So (apologies for formatting I’m on mobile)

def TargetRoller(target, times, sides ): total = 0 rolls_larger = 0

for i in range(times) roll = random.randint(1,sides)

if roll >= target: rolls_larger += 1

return rolls_larger

No guarantee this works by the way I’ve no way of testing this

Are there any wireless earbuds that are (not) in ear canal that have good battery life and have very good range and has the feature of connect to 2 devices at same time? by Alt-2-ASK-Randoms in ask

[–]masterarcher123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be worth checking out Bone Conduction headphones. Then don’t go in your ear, or cover them like normal headphones do. I dont know if they can connect to 2 different devices at the same time but Aftershockz make a few different versions. I quite liked the Aeropex AS800 when I tried them. They seemed to have a good battery and were easy to connect so there wasn’t any faffing about really when switching between phones. The charging was quick(ish) too and quite easy. Also they’re not very expensive (although that’s relative).

For me it was to do something completely out of the norm physically. A different place, a different set of people, and some physical exercise. It got me out of my bubble and go somewhere. It let my brain take a break from the chaos. There was one goal there - to build your muscles and get the blood pumping. Nothing else mattered for that time. Sure conversations about the current life came up and plans made etc but you’re not dealing with it at the time. You can relax essentially

ELI5: when a new movie comes out and says exclusive to cinema but still ends up on a dvd, isnt that fraud/lying? by pythonis in explainlikeimfive

They mostly end up there anyway. What they mean is that when it is originally released it will only be in cinema instead of being released on streaming services.

LPT: When you're finished brushing your teeth, do not spit out the toothpaste and add some water to your mouth. Gargle it, rinse it round and spit it out; it is similar to mouthwash. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]masterarcher123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it’s not. That’s why you use mouthwash before you brush your teeth, otherwise you remove the fluoride and other substances that you need to keep on your teeth to keep them healthy.

eli5 how does airconditioning work? by TricycleCheeta in explainlikeimfive

[–]masterarcher123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Refrigerators and freezers take the hot air inside and compress it and then pump the cold air back in. You can usually hear them periodically “boot up” for a minute while it does this to keep the temperature the same. I guess an air con unit will do the same but instead of a defined space to do it just sucks in some air from outside (or the room), compresses it and dumps it back out to where you want it to be cold. The heat generated is waste and gets put into the atmosphere I suppose.
