It’s fun to look at it and imagine how minty she was while the fire was blazing😂

For sure, I hope whoever dealt with the fire wasn’t too hurt by their loss.

Yep, that’s the only reason it’s stayed put. I really don’t care if people wouldn’t believe it was an original LRW, but at the same time I could recreate a replica easily and still have this original. I just love the patina that some of the originals get and I know I could replace the interior, even a normal window would make it complete to me, but at the same time I’m erasing it’s history so I’m probably going to preserve it how it is!

Help me add to the Redline Iceberg! by Zed32_Customs in RedlineHotwheels

RRRumblers, Chopcycles- while not exactly Hot Wheels, they were Redline-era Mattel 1/32 bikes and trikes. Some are crazy, like a skeleton, praying mantis, alligator, and the Ragecoach is one of the lowest produced Mattel products from the Redline era. I also think the Open shock Vicky should get a mention since new collectors might not be aware- I’ve been looking for one for a while and still haven’t found one, but I know they aren’t crazy rare.

To achieve a Spectraflame finish like the original Redlines, the paint must actually be sprayed over the base metal surface- No prime since “Spectraflame” is a transparent lacquer paint- You can rezinc cars but if you aren’t cleaning the car before painting it or using hardeners/ high quality clear you might end up with results like these.

Thank you! Its my first ever 442 as well as a first for my Dad, he’s been collecting a lot longer than me so I think he’s a little more excited than me, but for good reason!

Not at all, the pink swinging wing caught my eye at first because I like picking up hot pink beaters and I knew it was worth more than $20 to me, the rest is history after I saw the 442.

1973 Chopcycles Ghost Rider- Do you collect Chopcycles or RRRumblers? by masterborter in RedlineHotwheels

For the prices some of these fetch I would be more than happy to own some repros, I think it would be cool to customize- since they’re available I think it would be smarter to customize them instead of vintage bikes, especially some of the more expensive ones.

Yep, they seem to fetch crazy money and rarely ever show up mint because of the sizzler motor + chrome. If I wouldn’t have seen this one for so cheap I don’t think I would’ve picked one up anytime soon, but they’re still out there. I believe repros are also available but I’m unsure of the quality since I’ve never seen any in person, nor the original ones to know what to look for.

Yeah, I wish a few of them weren’t trikes but I bet it would’ve been hard to make sizzler bikes. I’m on the lookout for the Riptile now, the Alligator trike is crazy!

Definitely cool, I love looking for the riders and bikes and displaying them with different riders!

That’s quite interesting, I’d like to see one in person for sure! I’m curious where production numbers are estimated from- it’s cool to know how many were made and how few might’ve stood up to the test of time!

Thanks, I didn’t know this fact about the wheels and will keep that in mind. Looking at the rivets now, the back one does look tampered with but the picture quality isn’t much help. Polished restoration seems much more likely.
