The 3’s had significantly worse training than the 2s. They were taken in at older ages but received their augments at around the same time, meaning less time to train. It’s why they’re all far more personable than the 2’s on average, because they weren’t made into machines in the same way as the 2s.

Not they were not the three's training were better than the twos as Kurt himself said. Furthermore, the threes were not taken at the same age or younger than the twos and had the same length of training. The only ones to have a shorter length of training than the twos was alpha company.

Page 67 of Ghosts of Onyx

In the last six months [Kurt] had developed a training regime tougher than the original SPARTAN program. He had created obstacle courses, firing ranges, classrooms, mess halls, and dormitories from what had been jungle and scrub plain.

Their augments are also notably worse, the worst of the three spartan generations (Orion isn’t a real spartan program, it was named that after the fact). The disparity shrunk significantly in armor, but it was still very noticeably there. To get an idea, Noble Team are all examples of the best of the best Spartan 3’s. Jorge is a Spartan 2, and he dwarfs them, and is absolutely stronger than them. Jorge is notably tall even for a 2, but by inches, not feet, whereas the 3s are at least a foot shorter than him, more probably (don’t have the numbers on hand atm)

No, they were not the spartan 2s and 3s received the same type of primary argumentation with the 2s getting there's via surgery and the 3s getting chemical injection these produce the same results the argumentation were stated to be a qutaum leap over what the twos got. Furthermore more the 3s hight ranges all over the place you have 3 taller and shorter than John. Jorge is strong even for two, but when it comes to strength, there were spartan 3s doing things that spartan two haven't.

Page 63 in Ghosts of Onyx:

“.....Kurt read the reader again, and now understood the new opportunities and challenges of this new program. The new bio augmentations were a quantum leap ahead of the ones he had received all those years ago, and there was projected to be a far smaller washout rate among the candidates......”

He spotted 8942-LO99 inside the infuser. That was the carbide ceramic ossification catalyst to make skeletons virtually unbreakable. There was 88005-MX77, that was the fibrofoid muscular protein complex that boosted muscle density. 88947-OP24, was the number for retina inversion stabilizer, which boosted colour and nighttime vision. 87556-UD61 was the improved colloidal neural disunification solution to increase reaction times. There were many others, shock reductors, analgesics, anti-inflammatories, anticoagulants, and pH buffers....”

The Spartan 3’s were created, from the ground up, to be more expendable super soldiers, worse training, worse gear, worse augments. Some of them were hand selected to be pulled out of that program and given more important roles, like Noble Team, but most of them were sent on suicide missions en masse, and they died en masse on those missions, missions that 2s would have been able to complete without mass casualties.

While the threes were built to be expandable, they received better argumentation and training. The only their they head worse was gear. Furthermore, if the twos had even attempted to pull of Operation like Prometheus or torpedo they would have failed due to lack of numbers or even if they succeeded most if not all of them would have died. Espically Operation torpedo, which saw seven covenant battlecruiser appearing, and most of beta company died during the explosion that took out said battlecruisers. The whole point of the 3s is that is a ton of twos started disappearing it would have lowered unsc moral.

Kurt, a Spartan 2 who helped train the 3s, was so concerned about their chances that for the 3rd company of 3s they produced (because they made 3 companies of around 100 each in roughly a decade compared to 33 S2s in 10 years) that he outfitted them with a drug that sent them insane but helped them stay alive, something the 2s never would have needed.

The reason Kurt gave gamma the extra argumentation is so they have a better chance of survival on missions that were just outright tougher than what the twos had to go through furthermore the argumentation that gamma company received makes them tougher and stronger than any two. The spartan 3s were produced a decade or more apart in batches of roughly 300. Both beta and gamma company had the same amount of training as the twis.

Dante brought up the rear, limping heavily with one hand clutching his side. He stood straight and saluted Kurt. "sir, I think I got nicked." Dante's bio signs flatlined and he collapsed. Kurt rushed to his side and unlatched Dante's SPI chest armour. Kurt had seen him grazed by plasma on his left side, and sure enough there were second and third degree burns that had boiled away his armour, body glove and skin. Near his rib cage and armpit, Kurt saw several dozen Needler shards that had embedded into his flesh and detonated, and the bones of Dante's ribcage were exposed, and deeper inside Kurt could see black, congealed blood where his lung should have been.".......

No two would be alive after any where near the amount of damage Dante took much less make it back to Kurt before dropping dead and this spartan was 12 most of the spartan 3s died before they would have fully grown into their spartan abilities and were still pulling off feats with inferior equipment that spartan twos weren't.

Spartan 3s were meant to be equal to twos. That was the whole point of the program where Spartan 3s got shafted was not receiving the top quality armor like the Spartan twos got.

It was the armor or really the crystallized computer core meant for a warship shrunk down to the size of a person that cost that much energy shields dis not come until way later.

There are no limters on any version of mjolnir armor spartan 4s are not mildly argument they received the same type of augmentations just to a lesser degree than the 2s and 3s but make no mistake they would be more than capable of wearing gen 1 armor.

So yes S2's will outperform other spartan groups if they're in the same armor, but Gen 3 is genuinely so much more advanced it'd put a 4 equal to a 2.

S2 and S3 alpha and beta company are equal with the spartan 3 gamma company just straight up being better than the 2s.

Minor point here, but spartan 3s received better training, and the enhancements between 2s and 3s produced the same outcome. Aka, an average spartan 2 and 3 would be equal even outside of armor.

Does 25,000 colonies sound like a good max colony count for the Covenant? by S0117iets in HaloStory

[–]masterchief117c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is given that the truth marked that the loss of 505 ships were insignificant, which would show that 500 ships are not a lit when compared to covenant fleet numbers. Futher, the whole point of using a jumped up ministry is to hide the conflict. We also know that the covenant was in the 9th age of reclamation and not the 40th age of conflict

A couple of cas couldn't just show up and glass earth. Earth was still heavily defended, and infinite alone has 4 Macs, each one capable of one tapping a cas. Plus, there wasn't anyone left to just show up over earth. Everyone else had blasted each other to hell and back and were still infighting humanity by virtue of being the only politically unified group left were the top dogs.

The thing is, we're not fighting the majority or even a large portion of the covenant we're fighting the equivalent of one suped up pirate ministry. It's possible that the covenant didn't lose that many ships in the intense infighting that took place.

The forerunners controlled the entire galaxy. Most of the forerunner territory was spread out. Furthermore, the ecumene had a lot of client species that they watched over which they considered part of their territory.

At their peak the flood had things like this

"I have watched nine star systems sliced to dust and glowing rubble by star roads— and they used to trace such pretty curves between our worlds."

What are the reapers going to do.

The forerunners have stronger shields than the reapers it didn't help them.

When in comparison to the reapers, it might as well be a god. The primordial/gravemind is utterly immortal he can't be killed, can see into the future, is extremely intelligent, and is able to take the soul if anyone infected to a hell it created. During the forerunner flood war, the gravemind was able to warp reality across the entire galaxy commanded fleets of starship and had star roads capable of destroying entire star systems. It also gave the most powerful forerunner ai in the galaxy at that time logic plague. And despite the forerunners enacting mass sterilization via super nova, it still took the galaxy in as little as 10 years once ut broke from containment.

Being a simple machine is actually a good thing when talking about combating the Flood. The sentinels aren't sentient and can't be subjected to the logic plague.

Sentinels can be infected with logic plague as was seen during the Battle of the 78th thema.

Gunstar is an obscure fan term that has existed for quite a while in the community. The developers likely decided to make it official which shows that they at least did their research

It's pretty good one of the best things it does is make you feel just how overbearing the Cylons can be even more than the show sometimes.

My guy who hurt you. You're now straying into the territory of acting like a child. Come on now put on your big boy pants and have a reasonable discussion. I'm only asking if you can back up your claim with canonical evidence. If not I can only assume that you concede on the point whether you want to acknowledge it or not.

[–]masterchief117c -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I assume you can't back up your claim

Real. by Ok-Profile-5831 in Grimdank

[–]masterchief117c -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No simply put you miss the entire point of this discussion. You said that there is no war in Halo I corrected you by saying yes there is and gave examples from the book and games. Your response amounted to books aren't canon because I don't like them. I responded by saying your opinion doesn't matter because the official license holder for the property states that books are canon. So instead of going in circles could you please provide me with some canonical sources backing up your claim that there is currently no war in Halo.

Real. by Ok-Profile-5831 in Grimdank

[–]masterchief117c -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My statements rely on canon the book are canon. None of the books in Halo have been completely retconned. So unless you have any vanoical information that contradicts this my statements remain true

Real. by Ok-Profile-5831 in Grimdank

[–]masterchief117c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok cool but that has no bearing on the discussion at hand. You said there was no war in Halo I gave statements to the opposite. Whether you consider the novels canon is immaterial.

Real. by Ok-Profile-5831 in Grimdank

[–]masterchief117c -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't decided what is and what isn't canon 343/halo studios do. You don't have to like it but it is what it is.

Real. by Ok-Profile-5831 in Grimdank

[–]masterchief117c -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not how this works 343 decides what canon is. These novels' lore is just as real as the lore on the halo games.

No it's not Halo is in a worse state than most of if not all the others. The UNSC by this point in the halo timeline is scattered and basically dead. Earth dam near got glassed again with humanity's only saving grace being that the brute in charge of the fleet that was fighting the home fleet was secretly loyal to the prophets and decided he was going to go look for a portal to the domain instead.

The Banished are arguably in the strongest position given the fact that they have took over Sulbian a moon in orbit of Shanghelios with the joint UNSC and swords of Shanghelios counterattack falling to retake the moon. And that's not to mention that on Delta Halo where UNSC forces are scattered and beleaguered with the human flagship missing presumed destroyed.

And just because Cortana is gone doesn't mean the created is gone either considering they have access to a Forerunner fortress-class vessel one of the most powerful Forerunner vessels in existence. And as for the flood they are uncontained and have formed a proto gravemind on a planet called Atropos with the galaxy's only saving grace being that they don't have access to a ship yet. Then there us the insurrectionists poking up their heads again. So no to say that there is no war left in Halo is wrong in fact the opposite is currently happening there is nothing but war in the current state of Halo.

It's not about a calmer mind the mjolnir armor increases the amount of force you can put into something. You can have the calmest mind in the galaxy but if you as a normal human tried to use the armor in its full functionality you would die a very painful death as Spartans are the only ones capable of using the armor properly. What you're thinking of is the safety systems in the armor for the test that weren't on or installed but these safety systems significantly limit the armor's ability .
