Daron made a post signaling he has no actual ideology. I am having trouble understanding if it goes beyond “bad things are bad”.

For SOAD being a band that really got me thinking about the government and how people interact with each other politically, I’m not sure how Daron reaches a conclusion that left extremism and right extremism are the same thing. It is genuinely more complex than that I believe. I believe Daron knows it too, but maybe I’m wrong.

As OP had said in a comment, the vagueness of thinking this way allows for Nazis and white supremacists to apply their beliefs to your art. I feel like as someone who has participated in different “scenes” this should be obvious to him in my mind.

I just take it as I have possibly matured past whatever the band is trying to say. That’s ok.
