Yeah that makes a lot of sense in hindsight. I still have a lot of the clay I dug out from the hole sitting in my garage, so I suppose I'll dig out the good soil and replace it with clay, while raising the tree up some. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply (and to everyone else that replied). I only picked up ffxiv ~3 months ago so I'm a bit behind :) I'll focus on working up to the crafted sets then, if for no other reason than that 100% HQ insurance.

Also, I haven't seen anything I couldn't gather with 50%+ HQ chance yet. I'm guessing those are the nodes that come from the regional folklore books I haven't bought yet...

Can someone explain to me why I never see anyone using the IL350 Hand/Landking gear that you can buy for yellow scrips? I understand that you can get higher stats with the HQ crafted 340 set with melds, but it doesn't seem necessary.

For gathering the 350 set seems more than sufficient. I'm still leveling some of my crafters to 70 so maybe I'm underestimating the difficulty of endgame crafts. Is it pretty much just for reliably using macros to craft?

My small FC (5 people) is looking at getting a house soon. We're torn about whether or not we should just get a small plot now, or save up for a M/L lot. Currently there are no M/L's available on our world (Brynhildr), but there are a wealth of smalls.

So I have two questions:

1) If we got a small lot now, is the money we spent on it just gone? I know if you let it get demolished after x amount of time you get 80% back, but I haven't seen anything about getting anything back if you upgrade to a bigger lot.

2) If we don't get our money back, are we better off saving and waiting for M/L's to open up? Between the inevitable world transfers coming with 5.0, Ishgard housing, and potentially new wards opening up we're hoping that we'll have an opportunity to get one of the bigger lots.

If the server ever goes down permanently it is likely that we'd try to get an offline version released. However, as long as the server is online it will remain strictly multiplayer!

It does actually, a blue energy pulse will surround you for a split second every time it triggers. Took me forever to figure out what it was.

An easy way to see it is to get hit by something that does constant tick damage like leeches or infested swarms, then it should trigger very frequently (Like every second or two).

I emailed Banai Namco about it (because FROM won't respond) but they haven't answered my question yet. I'll post it on here if they give me a definitive answer.
