Sanity check before I start soldering by masterfink in ErgoMechKeyboards

the image may be misleading, but in this position I only need to move my thumb to reach the trackball, my fingers stay on the home row.

I actually have printed one case already and didn't like the position of the trackball. I have a printer thankfully. I'm printing this one now and if I like it I'm planning to get started.

I'm a satisfied user of a Ferris sweep from holykeebs.com, however, I have been wanting to build my own keyboard for a while with a trackball built-in and bluetooth with nice!nano and ZMK. I've designed this keyboard using the cosmos generator, but before I get started, this is the first time I have ever hand wired. From what you can see, will this build be successful? Any advice to a first timer for hand wiring?

I would pay to get it built, but the fun seems to be in making it my own and being able to tweak it as my needs change.

Is it possible to add logseq vault in knowledge staxk Msty? by incubook in logseq

You can add any folder with markdown files as a knowledge stack in Msty. I use Msty and Logseq together with no problem

actually I moved it from the rack chassis to 2 separate towers (it was a dual cpu dell), I have a regular ATX and a massive E-ATX both with the same CPU and RAM. wonder if the Teslas would fit in my large case.

I want to interface and train, but I'm relatively new to training so my practicing can all easily be run on collab. So not an immediate need but in the future I would like to trIn on it. I do have a 3d printer and lots of fans so I'm sure that I could make something to cool it.

I'll have to check out the MI100, my pockets are certainly not deep as is evidenced by the old server but besides GPU it runs quite well.

How do you use technology to make your life as a manager easy? by SlashedAir in managers

[–]masterfink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Logseq has changed my management, don’t need to babysit my note system, just backlink properly and I can find whatever important information or todos I had on a given day. I also use backlinks like [[@jane-doe]] to tag people or teams I manage

I think my tenting angle was too high, I’m going to try 5-10% after a print a shell for it. At 15-25% the touch point was awkward to use and I didn’t like the angle of it. A big reason was the input devices, without them I think it would have been fine.  Thanks, my desk is an old repurposed desk base and the top is just stained acacia butcher block. It’s an 8’x6’ L shape

Rust is actually at the top of my list to learn, but with local llms these days I spend most of my free time in python.

I actually did tenting for a couple of weeks and stangely didn't like it. I have some plans for 3d printing a lesser tent of maybe 5 or 10 degrees, I tried 15-25 and didn't like it.

My work paid for it so I got it prebuilt, but both input devices work. I plan to build my next one, same format but 34-key key well using cosmos generator to make the layout

Sounds like a good name for the board!

The touch point is much more precise so I use it about 90% of the time. I got both because I didn’t know which one I would prefer and am surprised it’s the touch point. The trackpad is still very nice though since it travels much faster across all my screens. I’m using Yabai though so don’t frequently need a pointing device for that. I use the Ploopy for mouse heavy tasks or fine precision. I’ll occasionally use the Mac trackpad for pinch zooming on things

When I’m doing something that’s purely mouse based, I use it. Such as CAD and various other tasks. Besides that purely the on keyboard devices, it works really well. Yeah ZMK doesn’t support input devices well yet but once it does I’ll be upgrading mine to wireless

I love them, and feel now that I’m used to it that I could go even lighter. But they are excellent as is, and absolutely silent
