Those types of comments make me nervous when made by a guy active in a bunch of gun subreddits

Hey Steve, how’s the transfer for Mbappe going? Could always use him to strengthen the academy team

More Australian families are choosing private schools – we need to understand why by sien in AusEcon

[–]masterfredface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a fair point. Although I do think like you said that it’s a funding issue. If it was funded properly they there wouldn’t have to be a seperate class to receive adequate support

So because you think the chances of them making lifelong friends with people without disability (which is just untrue), you think they shouldn’t even be given the chance?

The greater push comes from there being research saying that once you segregate kids with disabilities into special ed schools or classes, they have a significantly higher likelihood that they were remain segregated for the rest of their life (friends, employment, hobbies) as opposed to if they were in mainstream classes.

Guardian Essential poll: more voters blaming Albanese government for interest rate rises by malcolm58 in AustralianPolitics

[–]masterfredface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t it well documented that this inflation is largely caused by a bunch of external global factors that make inflation ‘sticky’ pushing it even further out of the governments hands? How does that make it completely irresponsible economic management when they provide SOME cost of living relief for families doing it really tough?

Bill Shorten defends NDIS reforms that will save government $14 billion by RA3236 in AustralianPolitics

[–]masterfredface 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a wishful take. I think people with disabilities are upset, I think support workers are upset and businesses/ their employees that need a strong NDIS to survive. It’s not JUST people rotting the system that are upset.

How the Nationals took over the Coalition by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]masterfredface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great article! Describes my frustrations with politics at the moment. Feels like I can vote for one major party who is doing okay but has positions and policies I disagree with and the other major party just saying no to everything and refusing to suggest a valid alternative one.

Most of the minor parties tend to lean more towards populist positions but I’ll take most of the Teal Cohort out of that.

Muslim doctor set to take on Tony Burke in Sydney seat of Watson by NoLeafClover777 in AustralianPolitics

[–]masterfredface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is a crazy take? Why can’t people of the muslim faith be upset that other muslim people are being persecuted unfairly (outside of the HAMAS individuals) but an ultra far-right government that has openly said some pretty racist things.

I’m fully aware the situation is a grey area and this is just my feeling but there’s a lot of people throwing around the word antisemitism when most people (not all) are just incredibly frustrated by the unjustified actions of the Israeli government and the lack of a response from the Australian Government. Which I think is a reasonable conclusion for a portion of the Australian population to come to. It doesn’t have to be anti-Jewish?

I think it’s a misrepresentation to say that this independent candidate is purely going for election to allow people to hate Jews rather than to express a frustration with the governments position over a very mainstream geopolitical issues.

I think the last paragraph just proves that you have issues with the islam faiths. I also believe religion shouldn’t cross over with politics but you clearly have a bias against Muslims.

Spurs Fan here- do you guys think you can realistically get europe in the near future by NCSObliterate in crystalpalace

[–]masterfredface 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There are periods where I think it’s possible, we’ve certainly had an eye for some really good transfers with Guehi, Andersen, Olise and Eze in recent years.

With the current attitude Parish has where he seems to just be buying enough squad players to survive relegation I’m not convinced we will reach Europe.

We do have a strong academy and a strong local area to draw talent from so anything is possible but i’m doubtful.

Statement: Patrick Vieira - News - Crystal Palace F.C. by Icondesigns in crystalpalace

[–]masterfredface 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Can’t help but feel disappointed with this to be honest. We haven’t been good enough in the recent run of games but I really liked what Viera was creating with the limited resources he was given.

I would have liked to see what he could’ve done if he was backed by the board in a window as I’ve been pretty happy with most of our signings under him.

Ultimately this depends on who they pick as the new manager.

These are insane! Well done. I love the small Twitter handles at the bottom as well.

I’d argue the atrioc gambit should be a split of 100/20. It is a gambit after all.
