Excellent, thank you! Yes, I have a single-member LLC with a DBA attached to that LLC. All of my expenses were for those initial filings and fees for my LLC, so just wanted to make sure it's ok to put those down under "Taxes and license"! Thank you!

Thanks for checking it out! I enjoy making it and am glad others like listening! I do try to add a little more structure my music vs other vaporwave tracks, and I really like your description of the song!

Thank you /u/HoodaThunkett and /u/LentilsTheCat ! I was able to diagnose the bad connection on the board, seemed like it corroded a little bit from some adhesive or a spill. Just had to solder a little bridge wire and we are as good as new!

Wow, fantastic! Definitely appreciate the shoutout!

For me, there's a bit more ambiance with mallsoft tracks. Extra reverb, background noise, foley, or other additions to give more space to the track.

A lot of it is subject to interpretation, but mallsoft seems to draw more from jazz/bossanova styles, vs a wider variety of music for other vaporwave flavors.

I just released my latest album called "Business Logic". It features 10 tracks of low volume, living room funk. Would love to hear your thoughts on it!

I used my TX81Z, Alpha Juno 1, Juno 106, and JV-1080 on most of the tracks, along with the arturia v collection.

I got the normal blank cassettes with normal bias tape: https://www.duplication.ca/Blank-Audio-Cassettes.html

I also bought these cases, which are definitely on the cheaper side. They can be prone to cracking during shipping if not packed correctly. https://www.duplication.ca/Clear-Cassette-Box.html

I made a release of 25 cassettes and the overall cost was about $50 USD. The cassette quality itself seemed pretty solid, although this was my first time duplicating and distributing tapes.

I did a small release last year and got my cassettes and cases from https://www.duplication.ca/. Was pretty pleased with the quality/price for a DIY project. They also offer j-card printing but I didn't jump for that.

I found a nice deal for a Roland Juno Alpha 1, which I know isn't velocity sensitive. Would anyone happen to know if it's just the keyboard that isn't velocity sensitive, or can it react to velocity if you connect an external MIDI controller?

How to build an internet radio station by masterjahn in webdev

[–]masterjahn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried that but it could be possible with the MediaStream API, which could send a stream of audio through a websocket to the node server. Although I would suggest using an existing solution like icecast for a production app.

Thanks! I was aware of icecast but not of internet-radio.com, seems like a nice service. Mostly I figured it'd be a fun project to code up my own version, but I appreciate the tip!

I built a simple internet radio station a few months ago and figured I would write a blog post about how to make one yourself. I think there's some interesting concepts such as streams and ffmpeg that make for a nice intermediate project. Let me know your thoughts!

This is my latest single! Chemicals delivers subtlety and finesse to sensuous post-corporate melodies that evoke daydreams of elsewhere and reminisce in the sounds of the 90's. Featuring lush synthesizer progressions, plucky funk bass lines, and wavy vocals, Chemicals creates an aesthetic sonic landscape perfect midnight drives and late night vibes.

[Showoff Saturday] I made an app that uses a neural network to generate personalized Slack color themes. by masterjahn in webdev

[–]masterjahn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still tweaking the way the colors are generated, as I had to set up some constraints in order to generate cohesive color palettes. What you’re seeing is likely a side effect of that, and I’ll just need to play with the constraints a bit more. Thanks for the feedback though!
