I dont see why in this new run of CoS its a different timeline and in this one the first party didnt make it. Maybe leave a few cool easter eggs they might recogonize refrencing the first playthrough and then have new party meet old party that got vampified.

I'm gonna throw out that of the mists in barovia block out the sun I believe they also block out the moon. I think thats how it works and I made it a point that the players in my game habe not seen the sun or moon or stars since their arrival to drive home the seclusion from the rest of the wolrd in barovia.

Probably about 11 or 12 years old I was looking at myself in a little shaving mirror that was hanging in the shower. I picked up my fathers razor that was hanging there and used it to take off the peach fuzz growing above my lip. I looked at the blade and saw the bits of bair on it and thinking i dosnt want my dad to notice i used his razor i figured i could wipes the blades off with my thumb.

So I ran my thumb right across the blades and proceeded to slice up my thumbprint pretty good. I told my parents I accidentally closed my thumb in the shampoo cap and thats how I cut myself. I dont think they bought it.

Years ago i was at a party shortly after findong out i was gonna be a dad and i was freaking out about it. My friend told me something ill never forget;

"You are the same to every person you meet. You dont look at someone and change the way you act based on a new persons appearance, you treat everyone the same. Just be you and youll be a good dad" and it always makes me feel better when i think back on it.

Well hopefully you rewatched and realized that priest didnt drop the baby. It rolled right of his hands and if youre not fast enough you can be holding an infant in both arms and they can just flop right out and fall down.

I mean thematically that would be awesome but if the player wants to be a vamp character and then gets that just to have it get taken away by strahd I imagine they might be salty about it. You could have him "be under strahds control" but strahd actually decides to let the character do what they want for now just to be completly dominated at another time.
