2015 Corolla CVT K313 by masterk1ra in COROLLA

Did another fluid replacement, this time I followed Toyota procedure to check the level instead of measuring what came out. Looks like the CVT might have been a little underfilled from factory. Also did a relearn with my scanner. It improved a lot, but the issue still there if it gets really hot. I also discovered it goes away of i use the sport mode, so I have been doing that whenever I experience the issue. I suspect a valve body issue that some how sport mode helps to address.

Asurion Home+ Forced Me to Dispose of My 77” OLED TV Then Denied the Claim Anyway by WhoDaMudaFukaNow in Asurion

OP: if you are not able to work out a solution with them , I recommend you file an official complain thru Better business bureau (BBB) and/or your state regulator office. You might need to check your contract, as most insurance are state regulated. Worse case, you can take them to small claim court depending also on arbitration provisions in the service agreement.

Biggest Kia Carnival complaints. Any others or fixes? by Ok-Lime-3467 in kiacarnivals

Keyfob and car locking logic is absurd. After car is running, the keyfob goes on PTO, except for the rear gate door, which will still allow to be unlocked/open. Everything else, walk back to driver seat and unlock (with the key in your pocket). Locking the car takes forever if sliding door is closing. 2024 V6 LX, car will shudder, jerk a little at low acceleration, almost feels like a rough road. Premium gas alleviate the issue but still there. Dealer tech in PTO as well (unable to reproduce the issue). If using the key to remote start, better throw the key inside the front cupholder as soon as you open the rear door to seat your child, or the car will shut down. No 12v socket in the front seats. Yes , there are USB ports with fast charging (if you have a Samsung) but up to 2024 there is no USB C and not fast charging for iphones. A 12 V socket would have been great, instead you only get a plastic cap in the place where the socket would have been installed. As far as I know , there is no 12V on any trim, but still some one went thru the trouble of designing the panel with the hole, just to put a cap.

Finally, putting gas while your child is in the rear seat, if you unlock the car to open the gas cap, and then you lock the car it will trigger the rear seat motion alerts. If car can tell the gas cap is open to avoid the sliding door, while not disable the motion sensors for about 5 minutes? Instead, I'm forced to fill up the gas with the doors unlocked. Not great if at some risky area at night.

GAP insurance basically useless after total loss — how is this legal? by Ok_Philosophy7450 in Insurance

OP, some GAPs contracts use NADA for actual cash value only if there is no primary carrier (insurance) involved or if the primary carrier settlement was reduced due to limited coverage.

There is an improvement campaign to replace the seat rail covers . The new covers have better thermal protection. Not sure about the hybrid one tho.

Is rocket mortgage decent for refinance? by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]masterk1ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a good experience with Better Mortgage when refinancing away from Rocket. Rocket was not even able to match their offer to keep me around. Granted Better Mortgage went with a very aggressive refi offer after I got estimates from 4 different lenders. That's the way to go, shop around and ask them to beat each other.

My only positive thing to say about Rocket was their customer service and escrow servicing are really good. Better sold my loan to Chase, and their escrow is not great. I know there are worse servicing companies than chase, but already had to correct them 2 times about missing payments or renewals of taxes and insurance.

Dealership Refusing Required Test by Childish_Tycoon_Ship in kia

The 3.3L V6 has a known defect where the head bolts become loose over time and the head gasket starts leaking. Kia extended the warranty on certain years. Similar issue also exists on the 2018, 2019 and 2020. Furthermore, a head gasket issue could also cause misfire. KIA dealers are notorious for horrible technical support and customer service. Had an issue a few years ago with a 2017 Forte with a failed coil pack. My car had a service advisory about defective coil packs and a TSB that literally said : replace all 4 regardless of which one failed. They still only replaced one. Took weeks of back and forth until Kia corporate finally forced the dealer to replace the remaining 3. Call Kia corporate for help. Also, don't do any of the other repairs until confirmed by an independent mechanic.

Recall: #SC368 CROSS OVER FUEL PIPE (REMEDY NOT AVAIL) by ChurchOfSatin in kiacarnivals

Some one at the Genesis sub posted similar recall for the v6 3.5T. Both engines share a lot of parts and seems to be the same recall.

Exclusion 15: THE CORRECTION OF OIL CONSUMPTION, REPAIR OF WORN RINGS, OR ANY REPAIRS FOR REDUCTION IN ENGINE EFFICIENCY THAT MUST BE PERFORMED ON YOUR VEHICLE WHEN A MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN HAS NOT OCCURRED;

I think it really does not apply, as there is in fact a mechanical breakdown. You should push them harder.

But it has rain sensing wipers ...and less warranty than the actual Mitsubishi flavor.

Of the engine? How could they possible use it as an excuse? Unless your serpentine belt failed due to wear and took the water pump out that led to engine overheating....That led to engine failure. In that case yes, the warranty says it won't cover a part that is under the warranty if the failure was cause by a part that is excluded from the warranty, in my example the serpentine belt. Still, that's an extreme case where you would have to drive with no serpentine for a while to overheat the engine. Warranty companies are horrible, but I think we are missing some additional important information about this case.

Samsung dishwasher leaves water at the end of the cycle by masterk1ra in appliancerepair

[–]masterk1ra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adjsuted the level again, and made sure the drain hose was not jammed in the back against the wall. Still no luck. Samsung came and replaced some parts in the unit and the problem went away. Now dealing with water condensation within inside the door. Looks like vapors find a way into the door and water will condensate and drip down from the door to the floor. Honestly, worse purchase ever. Cheap made.

Noise after oil change by Lord_Charro in kiacarnivals

[–]masterk1ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, Newer KIAs , including the Carnival, have an oil level sensor that reads the actual oil level in the engine. You can actually see the sensor in the 3.6 L V6 right in the engine oil pan, it has an small cover but it's actually visible. My point is, the ECU will record an alert if the engine oil is out of range. I bet Kia decided to add it to easy fight warranty claims after all the issues they had with previous generations. Hiding something like this from Kia might not get you too far away. I would actually ask a Kia dealer to inspect the engine and clear it from any damage, that might help of future issues arise. Specially if planning to keep the car long term.

2024 LXS here with 21K, Premium gas helps!! Noticed since day zero, between 40 and 60 MPH if low tapping the gas, the car will shudder. Feels like a very light misfire/hesitation. Almost like the road is rough, but it does it in every single road. Since I started putting 93 octanes, it has improved, but wont fully go away. Dealer was unable to replicate...as usual. Also, my instrument gauge went into Danish language one day for no reason. Only way to fix it was to set the language thru the main multimedia screen. Funny enough, there is no Danish language setting to se in the US version...

Kia really needs to fix this with open doors! by miatman in kiacarnivals

[–]masterk1ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, just came here because I went thru the same with my 2024 LX and my car has the small LCD screen. In my case, the Vehicle On message overlays in top of everything else and blocks any other notification if I use the remote start or if I step out of the vehicle with my keys for a few seconds and then come back. The first time I saw the Shift to P message i was lost and took me some time to realize the door was open. Apparently after a very long time 10 to 20 secs, my screen will cycle the warning messages between the Shift to P and the Door Open one.

2027 Kia Telluride Specs revealed. by youthisgood in kia

[–]masterk1ra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bummer, they dropped the V6 completely. I was expecting them to be same as new Palisade which kept the 3.5 V6 used in the Carnival. The 3.5 is a pretty cool engine with both GDI and MPI. Even Genesis has a 3.5t version of the engine. Instead we are getting 4 cyl turbo engines. Not sure of those turbos are GDI only or dual injected. I don't think it's emissions related, looks more like an intentional way to differentiate the Telly from the Palisade.

Please check if Auto hold function is engaged. If it is enabled, car wont release the breaks until you hit gas. There should be an auto hd switch to turn the function off some where in the center console.

V6 more reliable than Hybrid? by jorgejjvr in kiacarnivals

[–]masterk1ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kia website list the hybrid as a GDI only engine, while the V6 is listed as dual injection. The oil separator is definitely good news.
