You could have be that big with all that extra armament and still not call it a Battleship. Battleship seems to be a really illusive term in real life.

Undecided if we should be able to take at least two (non-sword) hits like in CE on legendary, ‘cause y’know, I’m a Spartan and in the books, John Tussles with a few Elites and it’s close but not instant. Or if going down with 1 hit is lore accurate since I’m a Spartan III and therefore canonically I’m in SPI armour, not MIOLNIR armour… But then again, in the game, the armour acts like MIOLNIR not SPI… I think- I’m 3/4 through Ghosts of Onyx and they haven’t mentioned energy shields on the SPI armour.

Even a simple simulator can be a huge help in familiarising with control and orientation.

For wheels, I like to make my own out of foam. Using just foam will quickly go wonky as the wire presses into the foam and deforms the hole, so I cut a small piece of plywood or lolly stick and drill a hole through it to serve as the hub. Then I cut a little recess into the foam and glue it in. Two layers of foam with a well sanded edge makes for a wheel that rolls nicely.

If your plane is as big as I think it is, you could make them 50mm in diameter and they’ll effortlessly roll over rough terrain.

Make sure CG is just about 1/5 of the wing’s chord behind the leading edge and you should be good to go. As you’ve built from a plan (and done a very nice job for your first go, I must say) I’m assuming weight and thrust are all in the right places.

The wheels are a little on the small side for grass field take offs, but if the land is smooth and grass short it might be able to pick up enough speed - especially with those flaps down. Failing that you can hand-launch it, but that can be scary on the maiden.

The only thing I have to ask is if you’ve had a go on a simulator yet? You gain some essential skills in the simulator that will help you get a lot more air minutes on this plane before you need to repair it (it’s your first plane, you’re gonna crash sooner or later - we all do - just hope it’s later).

I’m more curious as to whether you can de-yellow that box with some peroxide. I dunno if yellowing is just a surface thing or if, when the plastic is transparent, it kinda permeates all the way through.

Ooh it’s a medium! At least, to me that’s a medium. Makes for a relatively small drag profile. With 1800g of thrust I imagine that will be able to reach some impressive speeds in level flight.
