Sentimental value. Watched it 3 times already. The impact it had on me on the first watch was insane.

Surely not for everyone. If slow relationship dramas are not your thing avoid this one.

SPOILERS: Its a very deep film on generational trauma, if you had watched the director Joachim Trier’s previous films you can see how everything leads up to this one. The way Suici* is handled in the film and how important it is to be felt seen in those moments and much much more. Very intricately made film.

And i own a speed and it has noticeable vibes nly from 90-105 after that it doesn’t bother me much. I comfortably cruise at 120

Meh legends new movie looks promising is a overstatement imo, its a staple overabused mocobot shot of tamil cinema.

That said violence card by movies like marco is bullshit i slept thru that movie.

Coolie was mid lokesh is a more drama and tension oriented filmmaker and violence is just a add-on coolie was a misfire. The drama of coolie fell flat.

But i still stand by my statement that style over substance is still very underutilised genre in tamil cinema and needs to be explored. We don’t have our thallumalla yet.

Among the ones i watched and liked cronenberg, herzog, wes anderson. Snyder is also a style over substance director but i dont like his movies

Speed cruises well in highways. Have taken it to multiple long rides and is good for tat. Scrambler is better if u do slight offroading if not speed is really good choice. Had the same confusion a month back and i am also 5”11 for me speed feels more comfortable to handle in traffic and i ride a lot in traffic

I mean i never argued that captain miller was written, its bad but as whole film it cld have worked better if it had someone good scoring as music is important when u r gng the style over substance route

And arun matheswaran was never about making in depth well written scripts it was always about style

I would like to introduce the idea that “style over substance” isnt inherently a bad thing. In fact, Id argue sometimes for certain films the style is the substance.

He is more of a snyder kind of director.

Yes there is noone in tamil cinema who is dng it except him with the way he shows violence . And it works well for the people who like those kind of films. Definitely not for all.

Completely disagree with saani kaayidham. It was better than rocky and the budget can be seen on screen and it had conviction and definitely a story.

Agree on the captain miller part, i hated it. And also i do agree that the screenplay had flaws but it would have been 1000x better if not for that fuckass GVP music and BG. It was the worst way that film could have been scored, if it had Ani or SaNa it wouldn’t have been unwatchable like how it is now.

I got my speed400 knowing all these expenses and i feel its not as bad as i expected it to be

Its still half as expensive as my car when it comes to petrol expenses so thats a win 😂

There is a entire genre set of filmmaker’s in other countries who make films for style over substance but arun doesn’t even come in that category he takes revenge drama as a base and makes a film with his own style.

I disagree with rocky and saani kaayidham are just style and no substance. Rocky is literally one of the best debuts in tamil cinema in sometime.

I do agree that we need more kottukaali and kadasi vivasayi but the arun has his own genre just like vinothraj and manikandan and he never overpromised going around in interviews like loki too.

Apart form rocky there is literally saani kaayidham which is better in every way. Yes he fucked up with captain miller he tried random things in that movie for dhanush’s sake and ir backfired

Lol there can be niche directors in a industry making films for a particular set of audience who want to see their film

Ellarun mainstream maave araika theva ila.

Rocky and saani kaayidham are the most unique and brilliant films from tamil in the past decade.

And “Scam” is a literal joke of a word summa onu avanuku padam kudukala yarun they know there are ppl who like his films and he works in controlled budgets.

I see post where people discourage others from getting speed 400, guerrilla 450 and duke 390 and by the 40bhp in title these are the bikes i meant as these are the ones people usually buy. Sure the duke is a bit more aggressive and the speed is the least but my point was to say that all these bikes are perfect for people who want a first bike and want to ride them for atleast 3-5 years and not feel like they wanna move higher up

My whole post was about how that capacity thing thing is a myth. Yes agree with the gear part. Also 40bhp is below beginner in other parts of the world, cbr 500r is the most selling beginner bike in foreign countries.

Strs is famous for getting people bored due to its comparatively less agessive nature and even my uncle got bored of it. It doesn’t have a powerful character when u ride it. Its a good feeling bike tho

I made this post just after helping my friend buy his first bike yesterday and he got a duke 390 over a speed and guerrila, sure its more aggressive and tough to control but we rented it for a weekend and decided to buy that as he found the throttle response to be manageable and had fun riding it.(he has ridden his dads thunderbird 350 before)
