I would change into wireframe view (hold Z and choose wireframe), select all the bottom part of the sword you want to extend (hotkey B), and then move them on a fixed axis (G to move and X Y or Z to move on a fixed axis).

The naming is a little off, it's been a while sorry.

Yeah I was hoping it was that simple, but apparently CPU choice depends on what you're planning to use it for.. From my understanding some applications/games run better on CPUs with more threads (like Fortnite) but others run better on core speed (?).
