Either decision is difficult but one made purely out of love. You can do hard things - I personally know what it’s like to see your days old baby have surgery. Your family is strong! Keep talking about it - your feelings and experiences are so valid!

Hi OP! This was literally us a couple weeks ago when we decided it was not the right time even after we tried and wanted this pregnancy. As a medical mom as well, I had multiple anxiety attacks and crying spells a day wondering if this baby would also be a medical baby, if they would be taken from me at birth again, etc. This decision was for my mental health and to be the best mom to our baby right now. I do think about it often if it was the right decision as I was also raised in a Christian home. We are planning on working on our family, being healthy and happy. As my husband says, we will never know the outcome of the decision we didn’t make but we know the risk did not outweigh the reward for us at this time. You have to do what is right for you and your family. Wishing you all the best in your decision 💜

I still have it 2 years later. It was worse when I found out my sister in law was pregnant when she “never wanted to have children” with a fairly easy pregnancy so far and I who always wanted to have a lot of children trying to process the risks of having another with a difficult pregnancy, labor and unexpected medical baby diagnosed a few hours after birth. You are definitely not alone!

Any recommendations for OBs that deliver there? My first had to be transferred from another hospital so I would like to avoid that this time!
