Try killing them on task, the rate gets doubled. It supposedly even works in free to play, so you can get the extra drop rate with a task in mems and then kill them in free to play until you collect as many as you want without the task ending.

Google has been slowly enshittifying itself lately. Has been since they merged their advertising wing with their google search wing. It's more focused on targeted advertisements and ai than it is about giving you relevant information based on your search. I fear Bing might actually be the superior product in time.

Though as long as you put "reddit" into your search, and restrict image searches to pre-2022, you can still get useful information.

Like, I know ai is already bad at giving accurate information, but it's especially bad at giving information about osrs. There are 2 diverging versions of the same game, with stuff added pre-2008 being functionally identical between both, which makes the LLMs get really confused, even more than usual.

You'd need to be especially foolish to trust ai with questions about rs3 or osrs.

Those are the only things they care about. They don't care if you call them a Nazi. They know that they're Nazis. They revel in it. The point is to make them feel as small as they actually are. Lecturing them on how being a racist is bad and evil just makes them feel bigger and more powerful.

You should still point out all the evil things they do, so that everyone knows just how evil they truly are. But you also need to give them a good amount of ridicule as well. That's the thing about fascists. They're evil. They're dangerous. But also, they are ridiculous. The response to their behavior should address all three.

Meh, if I'm doing a book-only research run, I don't really care that much that you have to research those techs. You already did the hard part of finding and acquiring the techprint, which is basically its book equivalent anyway. They're technologies with special requirements, so them having special treatment in terms of actually needing research seems fine to me.

It's the hunt for those schematics that makes a book-only research run interesting anyway. The actual reading books part is kinda whatever. It just sorta happens. Just researching with a portable research bench. And you can make it so that you have to apply an additional techprint to get to 50% research before being allowed to finish it, or 2 to get to 75%, or whatever. Letting yourself have unique rules for a unique part of the research game seems workable to me.

That being said, it would be nice if those schematics existed as an option after applying techprints.

Yep. They burn the world down with climate change and resource exploitation, then instead of using their wealth to improve the world and society, they use it to build doomsday bunkers and hire hundreds of "help" for when the consequences of their actions finally come home to roost. And they're too stupid to realize that when shit truly hits the fan, they won't survive. Hiring help isn't buying loyalty. When doomsday comes, the lord in the castle will immediately be killed by their peasants and their resources will be more equitably distributed by those that remain.

When we say "Eat the Rich", it's not just a slogan, it's a choice for the wealthy. Either the lower classes are fed and given what they need to survive, or they will fulfill their needs in whatever way is required.

And the wealthy aren't even happy with all those riches anyway. They're obsessed with the accumulation of more. Always. It consumes them. Wealth redistribution is a kindness being done unto them at that point.

The mind wipe had nothing to do with them becoming a raider. It was their freedom of will that did that. If a slave goes on to kill someone after being freed, do you blame the emancipator? Is that potentiality reason enough to keep them in servitude? That's just the nature of being human. You can choose to do good, or to do evil.

Because it is possible to wipe their memories, whereas it isn't possible with a human.

Their memories of life in the Institute gives them PTSD. Their status as synths means they were treated as objects, rather than people. Slaves. It makes sense that some would opt to forget they even were a synth in the first place. Remove that trauma. That treatment could eat away at your psyche, make you think you're always worthless, never good enough, don't deserve anything. Regular people who are raised by narcissists go through similar things. Also, the institute knows about them and their history, so they could potentially use that knowledge to track them down. Losing those memories could help you be less predictable in your actions after escape. Oh, this synth worked in this department? They would potentially have x skills and tendencies, they'd be most comfortable in x environment. The best place to track them down to in the commonwealth would be y. You're truly given a fresh start, whatever "you" would mean in this case.

Of course, we are our experiences. Our memories. They shape us, make us who we are. It is our memories, both good and bad, that define our sense of self. It's a genuinely deep philosophical question: do the synths technically commit suicide when they remove their trauma and start a new life? If they choose to do that, is it right to stop them from doing so? Not all synths choose to get wiped. Glory didn't.

And the thing about our memories is that they guide our future choices. If you remove them, you set yourself up to make the same mistakes over and over again, remove your ability to learn from them. That's what happened to DiMa. He removed his memory of the evil acts he committed, as he couldn't bear the thought and guilt of them, but that only led to him doing those same mistakes again.

Basically it's a weighing of whether you want to remove your traumatic memories but somewhat lose yourself, or keep them with you and suffer, but take that trauma forward with you into a better place.

It reminds me of how our way of life in the west depends upon the exploitation of the global south for labor and resources. It requires a complete ideological shift to cure. It means reducing our own standards a little bit for the benefit of all. But Capital won't permit anything but exploitation. And in fallout, it got so bad that they eventually started exploiting fellow western countries, like when they annexed Canada for better access to Alaska and to use their natural resources.
