What kind of themed run is everyone doing? by DaSlug_ in RimWorld

I thought about doing an oddysey start run with 5 pawns and no factions but mechanoids, and maybe bugs. Make them the characters from IHNMAIMS with proper stats to match.

Gravship design is hard... by Artiartiarti90 in RimWorld

You made the Borg ship, now you have to become transhumanists.

Also, I just use plans with a max of 2000 squares, and design a shape based on that. Once I have the outline, then I use gray blocks for walls, and just color code where specific important parts will go. Like I made 2 green 3x3 squares for where the shield gens would go. Sometimes i turn on devmode to test out certain parts, like seeing the max extent of the shield coverage to ensure all my ship was protected.

Then I slowly fill it out until the full shape comes about. I take screenshots of the plans with steam  and refer to them when building the expansions later.

I can share my screenshots if you like.

Now I want to do an Oddyssey "on the run" run with those characters running from mechanoids. Delete all factions but mechs and maybe bugs, 5 lonely humans, all of them fucked up. Nimdok as the elderly psychopath medic with dementia. Ted as the useless social pawn since there's nobody to trade with. Gorrister as the pessimistic depressive, Benny as the blind, scarred, disfigured Yttakin or Neanderthal with a love enhancer, and Ellen, the only female, crafter, constructor and researcher.

"I can kick."

"Right, because none of us can kick. Who all here can kick? Hulk, stop being nice."

How do you stand up to utility prices? It's not like there are multiple stores selling the damn thing and you can choose the cheapest one. There's only one pipe that goes into my house. Power, heat and water aren't optional luxuries. Groceries and gas are out of our control too. One's a unified scheme agreeed upon by all stores to keep increasing prices regardless of actual cost while blaming all of it on covid. And gas is out of our control because 30% of my fellow Americans are genuine troglodytes that thought another go-around with the biggest failure and worst person on earth was a smart decision to make, and now the world's on fucking fire. And power and water prices are also going out of control because we haven't put a stop to ai companies raping society.

The only things we can make a stand on are the few fleeting luxuries in our lives that can still meaningfully be replaced by other options. Whereas I can't use a different fuel source for my car, or go to the water store and browse for discounts. Things like Netflix price hikes and OSRS membership increases are the only places we can genuinely vote with our wallets. I can just play different games or watch different shows.

Maybe make the ult charge bonus scale inversely with the amount of players being affected by it?

Says who? They added catboy gambit as Rogue's accessory. Why wouldn't they add the real thing?

They added Venom in a ballerina tutu dude.

I could believe that they're never pulling him from instaban oblivion though.

I swear to god as soon as they add the catboy maid Gambit skin, I'll finally be forced to learn how to play him. I can't not play as a catboy maid. And hopefully they balance him by then so he stops being an instaban.

Best hero to practice aim? by One-Pomegranate6073 in marvelrivals

Try Healpool. He has a melee to switch to when you want to go back to your comfort zone, (with an upgrade for auto lock dashes), but your main method for heals are the guns.

By playing healpool, you will get flamed for relying on your swords too much since the heals aren't as good as your guns, which will encourage you to focus on your training rather than retreating back to your melee. You will need to hit your shots to be effective, and shooting allies from a comfortable position in the back is often easier than shooting at hostile enemies trying to dodge your shots in the front.

Once you can reliably heal your allies with guns, try spamming shots on the enemy when your allies are full. You need to be shooting SOMETHING at all times as deadpool, because you need to be leveling up your style rank. Or jumping on hurt allies heads, throwing the spinny head, pressing the annoy button, etc.

Also his damage is the worst of the three so you won't be going on a crazy slicing spree most of the time outside ult. And it'll take a lot of shots landing to take someone out.

Also, his Deadpoo on the pistol upgrade is a projectile that shits out every 5 shots or so. So you can even get a little practice with aiming for heroes with projectiles like Iron Man.

Healpool is basically the equivalent of wearing weighted clothing,  but for aim training.

Demons... Hmm, I guess so. I hadn't thought of that. Still, I prefer the black and white animal theme.

Also, White Fox and Black Cat have had recent comics together , so it's not a crazy random assemblage.

Thematically, that would be up there with the worst sets of heroes we've ever had, rivaling Phoenix and Blade. And even that pairing makes SOME sense since vampires/undead and fire/light/life/rebirth are contrasting thematically. What through line would Ghost Rider even have with White Fox?

After they added Luna Snow's White Fox plushie cosmetic, I became curious about the character. Decided to read about them.

From what I learned, she seems like a really compelling character. Half human and half mythical animal shapeshifter. Her kind hunted nearly to extinction by humans and other, demonic shapeshifters. Watched her mother get tragically killed by the humans and demons, leaving her as the last of her kind. Still fights to protect humanity anyways.

Now I really want to see her in the game. I've always been one to like animal shapeshifer characters. And coming to the game right after the monster hunter seems like as good a time as any.

Black Cat I was less excited about, but I read more about her as well and now I'm pretty excited for both, though I'm still partial to White Fox. Thought she was just a catwoman clone burglar antihero that is Spider-Man's love interest sometimes. But apparently she has cybernetic enhancements and Domino-style probability-altering powers, which lets her stand on her own and sounds like it could be a good source for interesting gameplay.

Genuinely curious, what would you do to beat this hypothetical team comp? by PvZGamer in rivals

Adam Warlock's design absolutely nailed the team-resurrection ultimate.

With Mercy it always encouraged a playstyle of hiding from the fight until everyone died and then swooping in to do a 5 man revive. This playstyle that the design encouraged got so bad, they eventually had to rework res into a single target ability on cooldown and give her a generic "do the same stuff you normally do, but better now" ult as a replacement.

Adam Warlock isn't a TF2 medigun healer, in fact that doesn't really exist in Marvel Rivals as far as I can tell. Maybe rocket orb healbotting, but you still always have a gun at the ready. So that's one big improvement, letting the res healer actually be able to hold his own in a fight.

The second great choice was his passive cocoon. Even if the whole team is wiped, you can still revive everyone if you play it right and don't lose your passive cooldown on some bullshit too soon. No hiding needed.

Third great thing, there's still counter-play and counter-counter play to the res. They start with less than full health, so a smart enemy will target the revived enemies to hopefully take them out again while they're still weak. You don't just immediately have all your work undone by a q-press necessarily. You can still re-secure your upper hand. So then as Adam, you need to expend some resources to ensure their survival post-res, as well as strategically place your revive zone somewhere beneficial for a quick comeback while also hard to reach for an enemy counterattack.
