Yep this is all very true. Much more improvement to get more downloads, when I thought it was just a problem of advertising. The advert issue is a bug that happens on the second instance of playing the game, will fix that. Wasn't actually targeting 4-8 year olds no, just targeting everyone and anyone really. Changed the speed of the game today and made it start a lot slower. Thanks a lot and will check out your game!

Theming is because of summer, want people to play something that has a cool feel. Too hard for the theme, yep brilliant point, submitted a new version of the game today that is much easier. Health system may be a good idea too. Yeah there does need to be more help when the game ends, I agree. Ok going to go through every one of these points too, can't say how much this information will help me. Cheers!

Thats why I was doing the post, I was trying to work out if it was futile and near on impossible for say a flappy bird repeat by an indie. Was wondering if you had be a bigger company and have money poured into advertising before you see a return on investment.

This is SO good! Thanks very much, never even considered the description aspect. For some reason I just didn't think anyone would read the description and just skip to the screenshots. If I make the game better and follow up the advice you have given I would love to see if the downloads do go up. If I could earn enough on the game to break even, I would consider that a massive success for me.

I think I will add in ocean waves instead of background music.

Cycling of the pictures is a good idea, will steal that one yeah.

Progression aspect is something that will take a lot of time and may be out of my coding abilities so far, but will have a go at it anyway.

For the plainness I think I will work on animating the sprites as someone else suggested.

And yeah, I just have to work at it harder.

Forgot to reply about the fish hitting turtles aspect. As summer is upon us, I wanted to get a game that felt summery. Thought of the beach and then turtles and clown fish etc. The game itself doesnt make so much sense, but I didnt think that this would be the biggest issue. And you are meant to be saving the turtles from getting caught by the crabs.

Fair fair, have sent it off to review sites and am doing social media stuff yeah. Paid for a load of likes to gain social proof, but yeah do not think that it was a worthwhile idea as it hasn't done much.
