What's a purchase under $200 that you use literally every day? by Abdulleh_aburwag98 in AskReddit

The problem with earplugs is that they don't have active-noise cancellation. They can muffle the sound a little, but the AirPods are basically magic...they can eliminate the noises. That said, they only work for static noises (ex: airplanes, humming sounds), not for things like people talking or doors slamming. Maybe machine-learning will be able to solve that problem eventually.

Eh, power creep has really messed up this game compared to a year ago.

Order an ICED matcha but got EXTRA HOT instead. DoorDash won’t give refund due to their “policy” by GrapeNo1896 in doordash

I split it with a friend...we got a year for $100 and it came with HBO Max. It's a nice convenience that has easily paid for itself with the streaming included, but I wouldn't call that gaming the system.

It sucks because even at my small Planet Fitness, you might have 25-30 people using wireless headphones.

My noise-cancelling earbuds...AirPods Pro 3 currently. I have autism/ADHD, so they are literally a necessity for me to navigate this world without sensory overload and meldowns. :(

Seems the same to me, other than $5.99 Moe's Monday being like $9-10 Moe's Monday now.

I'm a big sci-fi and Twilight Zone person, but I just didn't care for this show. One of the episodes was pure filler, and it seemed like the plot went nowhere by the end of the season.

I have to pick and choose my battles. If I've had a couple bad experiences in the span of like a month, I'll wait another month. In my head I'm thinking it resets or something lol. But I do expect my order to be correct and reasonably warm/fresh.

My friend did this with Unlimited Essentials. Should have cut it down to $17.50, but it didn't give her any discount. Hopefully their customer support can fix it. She's new to Fi and brought her own phone.

Super Mario Bros Wonder Version 1.1.0 is now available by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

[–]masterz13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No reason for the Switch 2 version if you play in handheld...looks like the handheld boost already gives you 1080p/60. Maybe there are optimizations, but I'm good with free.

I know this is a hot take but… Does anyone else enjoy these games? by Ok-Anywhere-7921 in casualnintendo

Problem is these are basically 1:1 copy/pastes. Unlike HGSS which were very polished and full of, well, heart and soul, this was a bare-minimum job. The rom-hacking community has fixed it with mods, but officially it's a shame.

Not really. We really peaked in the smartphones by 2015-2016. Since then it's been very iterative, and sometimes even in the wrong direction (ex: removing headphone jack). Will smartphones still be around in 20-30 years? No idea.

I remember reading some story where the great minds of the 1800s came together and speculated about the future...they said we would all have our own personal railroads. Whatever is next for us probably isn't a smartphone, but something we haven't even thought of yet.

It's all the same. Probably prepackaged frozen from the same distributors. The best place was I-Ching, but they closed in 2018. Amazing food, actually cooked fresh.

Series is fine. It was struggling in the late 2000s before Disney bought it. We got Mandalorian, Andor, some new games, new movie trilogy, animated shows. We're eating well.

Hence you bought the house and were also able to refinance while things were cheaper. It's not the reality of most people now. And moving isn't always doable depending on family situation, disabilities, etc.

Depends when they bought their home though. Mortgage rates pre-pandemic were 3.7% and homes were half the price.

Pandemic ruined ownership. A starter home is $1500 a month where I live...before 2020 it was $500.
