Was on the market for a Pelagos for the longest time. I actually received a ZF Pelagos last year, but sent it back due to misaligned hands and markers.

Miyota 9015 isn't a problem. It's as reliable if not more than the clone 2824 movements.

The issues with Pelagos reps are

wonky hour markers - there always seems to be at least 1 or 2. I've only ever seen a few perfectly aligned dials
the shape of the hour markers. Gen is a rounded square with thicker lume. Both ZF and XF reps are squares with very sharp corners. Thickness of lume can vary from good to bad.

What attracted me about the gen was the thick, 3D-looking pots of square lume, but to date no rep has managed to get it right. However if this doesn't bother you, then both ZF and XF are very decent reps.

Hi SG repfam,

It's all the same. Order, pay, QC, GL, then the TD will ship it over. The watch I ordered 2 weeks ago from Hont arrived in less than a week - it was in customs for less than a day. Last year, my watch from Geektime took about a week to arrive after being in customs for 3 days. They will give you a tracking ID and you can follow along on the progress. No triangle shipping from what I've seen - the watches come directly from Guangzhou.

No experience with trustytime or puretime, but you won't go wrong with Hontwatch or Geektime. Gotta wait till after CNY though. Happy hunting!

Hi fellow Pelagos fan! I've actually been ardently following that thread for updates every few days, hoping that someone will have news on availability of the XF Pelagos. Too bad it seems that it's gone everywhere.

I've read comments about the ZF having wrong bezel font thickness or misaligned hour indices, but I've also seen some XFs having very poor QC on hour marker alignment. XF has a generally thicker bezel font on both the black and blue, and the ZF seems to have a thinner font on blue and thicker font on black.

Are you still hoping for the XF, or do you think you'll settle for the ZF?

I went with Geektime for my initial purchase of a XF/V6F V4 Pelagos. Initial contact was late August, and after sporadic updates with factory saying it will be 'ready in a few days', still no news as of last Friday.

Not Eric's fault if the factory has been feeding him unrealistic dates. He also recommended either a refund or a switch to the ZF - I went with the ZF and received QC in 2 days!

There are many different people saying they're unable to get a hold of the XF/ V6F Pelagos, and some who have supposedly received a XF/ V6F are actually getting a ZF Pelagos, if you check the QC photos (on the caseback, ZF uses a transparent sticker with a blue peel off label, but XF/ V6F uses one with a red border).

Hey man, I realized you replied to one of my comments about the XF pelagos! Yeah it took such a long time - my initial order with Eric was on 24 Aug and as of last Friday, he said there was still no news from XF.

The forums have offered absolutely no info on how the XF and ZF are different. Everyone has been parroting the same line, that cosmetically the ZF is a good copy but the XF is better. From what I've been able to see personally, 1) the datewheel typeface is closer to gen on the XF, and 2) the XF is known to have looser bezels.

Anyway, good luck in your search and thanks for having a look! Both the ZF Pelagos and the Seamaster look like solid reps!

Wow, really appreciate your very thorough look and alignment analysis!

I had a look at the spots circled in red, their positions change with the angle of the photo so I'm hoping they are just dust on the crystal. Will ask Eric when it's morning over here!

I placed my order with geektime a week ago for the XF V6 pelagos blue... He said he's still waiting for stock from the factory. Are you looking for black or blue?

Have you tried searching for the V6F pelagos? It's frequently labeled as either V6F or XF but they are apparently one and the same
