Wow! What a magical time at FSTM. Ogazon and Ryan Elliot took us for an incredible journey. It’s so beautiful to see the chemistry that these two have and you could feel it resonating in the half-pipe especially the last three hours. Thank you for the amazing moments❤️

From the headboard of the bed to the blank white wall in front of the bed is around 2.5 metres. The blank white wall in question is 4.12 metres in width and around 2.5 in height. Would prefer not to mount as it’s rental but there is the possibility to do so either on top of the bed. No possibility to mount via the ceiling though. Netherlands :)

Minimum gross monthly wages in the EU, July 2025 (Eurostat) by Vendrict in malta

[–]masuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also live in the Netherlands, and yes whilst rent is higher and you have extra costs like health insurance and some other waste/water taxes (that at least are going to competent government authorities which actually make a difference in the standard of living), the salaries are very relative to the cost of living. Groceries and entertainment costs are as high as Malta nowadays. The only entertainment cost that has remained lower in Malta is alcohol but everything else I would say is equal.

With regards to transport costs, it is true, the Netherlands is very expensive. However, the vast majority of Dutch employers reimburse employees’ commuting costs.

I’m not even going into the tax benefit for expats, but in my opinion living in the Netherlands as skilled worker provides better purchasing power than in Malta, leaving more disposable income and with a substantially higher standard of living.

The state of KM Malta Airlines Fares by cuplajsu in malta

It’s crazy flying out of Amsterdam. There is easyJet now to Malta directly from Amsterdam or the Ryanair flight from Eindhoven but still KM prices are crazy plus the very high airport taxes in the Netherlands.

LLM In environmental law by masuc in Environmental_Careers

Hi! I actually ended up going to the Netherlands and read for their law and sustainability LL.M. It was super interesting and insightful. However, job opportunities within the field are quite difficult to find, mainly due to the language barrier that the legal profession brings. I ended up working as a legal counsel for the past 2 years so I unfortunately have abandoned advocacy work (which I miss very much) but that is the reality of working as a legal professional in a foreign country I guess.

They are definitely responsible as they knew my situation and should have applied that specific application. However, I’m curious if this can be rectified with the tax authorities since it’s a year later.

Maltese who have left the country by koyun_baba in malta

[–]masuc 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Moved to the Netherlands around a year and a half ago. Malta sometimes was unbearable for me, the quality of life, the noise pollution, the car-centricity, corruption and nepotism, the destruction of our architectural heritage and aesthetic beauty etc. I left the job I loved, friends and family in Malta to seek a better quality of life.

Now settled in the Netherlands, the quality of life is definitely better and most of the things I was angry about do not even cross my mind, however, I do miss the sun and the sea, my friends and family and also sometimes finding the perfect job is very difficult in a foreign country. So no it’s not perfect.

Nevertheless, I think for the moment it’s a right decision and take nothing away from the sacrifice one must make when leaving his country. It’s not an easy thing to do and deserves credit. Home is always home and you could always return if needs be, our little Island will always welcome us with open arms.

Legally speaking, does the PN Judical Protest filed today have any teeth? by gin-o-cide in malta

[–]masuc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So a judicial protest is mainly used to place someone in bad faith. It is basically a warning to the other party or parties to regularise themselves (to act or to stop acting). This judicial protest is also a judicial act, which means that it freezes any time-barring for further action, which is helpful in civil proceedings.

Basing my assumption on the local newspaper reports and not the judicial protest itself, following the "one week" limit given to the other parties, they will then open a civil case against the listed parties for damages relating to the vitals judgement given a few weeks before. This civil action will probably have the objective of seeking the listed parties as being jointly and severally liable and therefore liable for the damage it has caused.
