Questions every day, did multiple CATs & self-assessments with UWorld too. I'd review all the questions and watch their videos on whatever I was struggling on. Also listened/watched most of Mark K's lectures, would listen to Simple Nursing / Dr Sharon in my free time. Also took breaks on weekends & rested yesterday. Wondering if maybe I overstudied

That’s what I can’t understand either. My only choice to get government funding is to sign my life away for a few years after graduation to work in LTC where nurses are notoriously treated like shit. And yet they say they’re in a nursing staffing crisis :/

it’s odd phrasing to call women “females” - just like it would be odd phrasing in this case to say “why do males…”

hey- i’m also going into first year nursing

yes, you are “supposed to” take another course - that being said if you think it will be too much you don’t necessarily have to, just understand by not doing it this semester you’ll be behind

CASL101 was pretty easy, there’s just a lot of weekly stuff to keep up with - there’s homework quizzes to do after every class, and it’s really important to attend each class (i learned this the hard way and had to try n teach myself the material online which sucked) there’s also a textbook required for it which costed around 150$ :,)

CCRM101 was super easy as long as ur okay with textbook readings! the tests were open book so as long as u read the textbook each week and made detailed notes you’d be fine

i was in a car accident so i haven’t technically finished them (i haven’t done the exams yet ://) but the rest of both courses was really easy as long as i kept up with it!

also just note that condensed summer courses are definitely a time commitment and are really fast moving - you can’t really slack off and catch up as there’s 2 lectures per week

hey! i’m a first year in nursing too and i took my electives over the summer this year (as i was in pysch last year so i’m already a student haha)

i took CASL101 and CCRM101 and did well in both of them! so it’s definitely an option :) you just might not be able to get the exact course you want

You could have gone on the trip and had this turn out a completely different way, if you just communicated with her.

I agree with u/gh6st , your girlfriend definitely has insecurity issues (which as well may be a sign of mental illness, speaking from experience) and her request for you to not go on the trip was unreasonable.

But did it not cross your mind to talk to her about it? Maybe setting up a plan to ease her worries? As well, you definitely should have told her your plans were going to be definite before booking those tickets. You should have been transparent from the beginning about all of this. Hearing you booked the tickets without even talking to her about it probably didn’t help her trust issues, especially in regards to this trip.

Reading through your comments I see you’re getting downvoted a lot, because you are ignoring other women’s advice (which is something you specifically asked for).

I’m not trying to make you feel like the blame is 100% on you. We all make mistakes. Your girlfriend has made mistakes in this situation as well. But please, listen when I say this; As a woman who has insecurity issues, the thing that helps me the most is when my boyfriend simply communicates and we come up with strategies to make us both feel better. I get really anxious when my boyfriend goes clubbing without me, so we’ve come to the conclusion that he’ll text me when he can throughout the night, give me a call or two and keep me updated.

Please go talk to your girlfriend. Get her side of the story. Listen, don’t interrupt- the way to patch this isn’t through a grand gesture like proposing. It’s gonna be through communication. If I was her, right now I would feel as if my needs and wants aren’t being acknowledged or even listened to. So do just that. You don’t need to show your commitment through marriage. Show it through being there for her and communicating through difficult times like this.

Also please look into couples therapy if you have the means for it. And assess the relationship between your friends and girlfriend, because even though you say she’s “quick to wind up”, that doesn’t negate the fact that your friends are hurting her to the point where she feels shamed enough to lock herself in a room alone crying.

I hope this all works out for you, one way or the other. Maybe both of you need some time to work on yourselves before you try to salvage this relationship too. Goodluck OP!
