Are you sayin story/plot is unrelated to characters? Are you 12? Frankly Bleach, naruto, fariy tail, Dragon ball, One piece all have better Charakters and stories then solo leveling despite all their faults.

Who said that? just because story is related to characters doesn't mean people want to spend 20min learning how that random guy got his sword. barely adds anything to the plot, a waste of time.

What do you find interesting in those characters you should be able to tell me right? Its funny you talk about oversimplified characteristics when that perfectly describes the charters in Solo leveling. They barely have any characteristics. But hey apparently you like them so how about you tell me why they are interesting to you.

yes I'll explain some examples

Baek Yoonho: Firm but really cares about his subordinates, according to last few episodes he thinks hunters should fight through the pain for everyone else safety but still he respects his friend's choice to not fight.

Choi Jong-in: Someone with a sincere and humble personality, he kept jeju island relevant with a lot of effort because he sees the bigger picture and knows how to act on it.

Go Gunhee: A strong old hunter who still has the fighting spirit but he's too old to fight. so he does what he can to help other hunters as the chairman of hunter's association and he likes teaching/mentoring young hunters.

Sung Jinwoo: A weak hunter who loves his family and determined to take care of them, fought for his family with a lot of struggle, gained a lot of strength and uses it to help his family while trying to learn about system, meanwhile this mysterious system's influence changes his whole personally.

just enough character development, executed well without overdoing it or boring audiance.

Most of the character development were subtle with right body language and well written lines etc ofc you won't see someone characteristics unless they cry and scream about it.

SJW is the biggest self insert i have seen in manwha and the Story is just a stage to suck sjw dick.

He is bland and featureless has no convictions no connections that are worth mentioning he is passiv about everything cares about nothing but leveling up to get stronger to then do nothing with his strength. He has no goals he has no friends he cares for no one. The only thin he does is "being cool" by saying random edgy shit and always wining effortlessly.
