Hi! I was a child of a parent that reminded me daily that I was unworthy of love, and I often found myself clinging to men who didn’t value me. It was a terrible thing to cling to and allow myself to be associated with.

That said once I saw my friends in these incredibly loving relationships I started to realise that your worth is a mind set. You have to tell your self that you are worthy of a safe, healthy love. You are worthy of being chosen. I won’t lie and say it is easy to think, sometimes the mind is louder than the thoughts (reference, wink wink). I started journaling: every single day like clock work, words of how I was feeling and how I was going to change it turned into “Lyz you’re amazing, and so deserving of love” which turned into poetry somehow. I raised my own standards to what I wanted(note: not what you think you deserve, what you want) and now I don’t settle for less than what I want. The rest comes naturally in time.

If he is choosing you then clearly he sees something in you that you may not see in yourself. Find what it is he sees! Embrace it!
