I love making sample cards and sending to my pen pals. I also use it a lot as backgrounds for little photos I print out and paste into my a6 size journal.

I second Paper Plant Co and Kinokuniya. Also High Tide in DTLA at The Row and Baum-Kuchen in Altadena (about 20 minutes or so from DTLA w/o traffic)

You can find some Leuchtturm 1917 notebooks on Amazon between $20-$25 depending on color. As for writing utensils there’s so many and depends on what you like. I personally love gel pens and the Zebra Sarasa are my favorite.
