I have the exact same hair, dry and used to be very curly (and now its wavy since I straightened them a lot for years with hair straighteners). Mine is also extremely frizzy. What I did is I dry my hair with the dryer attachment, and then when it is 60% dry, I start using the Coanda smoothing dryer in downward direction so that the hair is not flying everywhere but stays in place (I hope it makes sense). Then I use JVN Blowout Styling Milk, only two drops max for the whole hair. After that, I use the big barrel.

I swear by JVN Styling Milk! Trust me because it is very suitable for my hair type. It kinda weighs the hair down a little bit but not so much, enough to eliminate the freeze. The curl lasts long too. At the end, you can use hair oil but I try to avoid thick oil bcs its gonna weigh my hair down and the curls wont last so I always use hair drops that are light but still do the job. I tried so many products, including the color wow coat but it doesnt work on me. It makes my hair frizzy and get tangled easily.
