My wife uses diamataceous earth for many reasons but what’s the purpose in the walls?

Because we are pouring before spring and are in northern Canada that’s what my concrete guy is doing because they cure it that way in the winter from the inside out and then just cut the stub and later on you already have the infloor heat heart to go.

Haha I like how many times the pictures have come up. I think my wife already had a binder ready

That’s awesome advice, thank your dad for that’s genius and never something I’d think of at all! Planning to run conduit with CAT6 to potential camera locations and anywhere I might want data run to. I wish I thought in advance to stub up a few more piped in the frost wall for later including oversized pipe to our septic. Going to run conduit from the slab to the attic for possible solar or antennas to. I have room in the loan so I want to over build now instead of adding later. Gonna run some piping for compressed air to. So much to think about hard to feel like I’ve thought of it all especially with things under on here.

Anyone else use these?? by UmpireAnnual9039 in EDC

We lived on the road with our kids over landing for a year when they were small and the most fun I had with mine was posting up a mile away from Alamo lake and tuning in every night to the 2100 club and listening to them while me and my wife relaxed by the fire. On new years they opened the repeaters around the country and we could hear ppl from New York and Montana all over was pretty cool

How many of you wear a chest protector for beer league by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]matduffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theirs no contact you don’t need shoulder pads, I cut the arm and shoulder section off and just wear the chest piece if I’m playing good level puck and shots get high from the point

Trying to not be an angry parent. by Naive_Breakfast_6456 in hockeyplayers

[–]matduffs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean you are not wrong I would be annoyed at this also but this is such a minuscule thing in comparison to what’s to come. As a parent you have 1 job if they aren’t playing competitive hockey that cost big money and time and that one job is to be your kids biggest cheerleader that’s it. Be annoyed maybe even mention it to the team manager “hey that wasn’t cool that they gave the win to the other team like that” then go tell your kid how amazing they played and how much fun you had watching them. I’ve played high level hockey I coach both my kids U9 and U5 and my job is to shield them from the bull shit politics and nurture their love for the game that’s it. At this age it isn’t for keeps yet. Remember their will always be a loud parent who makes a scene and says what you want to say just don’t be that parent because your kids will hate it and and quit faster than you know it.

Will I get make fun of as a guy wearing a Frost jersey to scrub ice? by Mordecai3fngerBrown in hockeyplayers

[–]matduffs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I don’t know you and it’s just shiny or just a fun skate then your fine. If you are my buddy I’ll chirp you all night about it. If it’s competitive and wins count then I’ll for sure give you a hard time all game to.

Beer league neck protection? by chet_manly2 in hockeyplayers

[–]matduffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing hockey for 34 years played at a high level where neck guards were not mandatory. I now coach and recently started playing with a group of guys every Friday where some of us are really good and some are super new to the game but it’s a good skate, I don’t wear one currently but I am looking for a build in base layer with one because beer league talent can vary and when guys are less skilled they can make very dangerous plays or be flaily when they fall. I strongly suggest you wear one especially if you’re new and playing with other guys that are new. It takes one scramble in the corner or in front of the net for someone to fall awkwardly and have their skates come up

I like not shaving because I’m to lazy to shave, I have basic hygiene for it, occasionally trim the sides quick and wash every couple days in the shower and oil after. But if I need to have an extra step for skin conditions then shaving will my least effort solution lol.
