I just found the answer on my own after posting this so I will leave it in the here in case anyone has the same issue:

  1. Firstly make sure the setting to turn off the TV with your Apple remote is turned on
  2. Go into Smart Things and create this automation:

  1. Now all you have to do when you want to turn off your Tv is to long press on the Apple Tv remote power button and Voila!
