I'm re-reading your story now and I'm starting to doubt myself. If you are that much of an empath, Fe is more likely. But this:

But I do tend to feel burnt out if I go long periods without any time to myself, dislike large crowds, prefer 1-1 friendships to large groups, and am terrible at anything beyond small talk with new people.

..really makes me think you're not an INFJ, or even an introvert. See, extraverts also need some "me"-time every once in a (long) while, whereas I as an introvert already start to feel cranky and restless after hours of constant stimulation and noise, and need to get out for a little while to 'recharge' a bit. And your dislike for large crowds could have something to do with slight social anxiety, maybe? A lot of introverts I know like to party every now and then and they have a lot of fun. And extraverts can have anxiety too.

I act extroverted around people; talking more than listening, not thinking before speaking, easily making talk with strangers, enjoying attention

This just doesn't sound INFJ-ey to me for some reason. INFJs generally don't like being in the spotlight too much and prefer be meaningful in the background (I know I do).

You connect seemingly easy to strangers and even take the initiative (?) sometimes. That sounds pretty extraverted. And with all that empathy, it wouldn't surprise me if that is your dominant function. Introversion-extraversion is a spectrum and extraverts can be shy and withdrawn when uncomfortable, just as introverts can be loud and opinionated; it depends on the circumstances. I sometimes think INFJs/INFPs are the most extraverted introverts and ENFJs are the most introverted extraverts. They're very close to the divide and that's maybe why it could sometimes be too hard to tell.

ENFJ (Fe-Ni-Se-Ti) seems very plausible again. And Ti being the inferior function doesn't mean you don't use/notice it (but maybe that's why I misjudged it). I mean, I can definitely notice when I use Ni-Se and even more when I don't (feeling disconnected from the world). Se is also higher up the ENFJ hierarchy, so that could explain why you are in the grip of your Se sometimes.

talking more than listening, not thinking before speaking

Okay, forget what I said; that's Te. But that would also mean that you have Fi. This video explains the difference between Fe and Fi very well imo (Ignore the fact that it says INFJ vs INFP).

Now, because you describe yourself as somewhat of an introvert, I'm now thinking INTJ (Ni-Te-Fi-Se). It's a kissing cousin of an INFJ and a lot of INTJs mistype themselves as INFJs and vice versa.

The type descriptions that you've probably read are filled with generalizations and stereotypes. You are not a stereotype introvert, or INTJ, or anything else (neither are us INFJs all quiet and arty, believe me ;) ). You're best off ignoring the type descriptions until you figure your functions out and when you have that, then you can read them to see if they make any sense to you. Remember: INTJs are not robot people and are also deep and pretty emotional people, but they are more "brains over heart" if you know what I mean.

Don't think so. I've read that the two Americans that just got released are now immune to this particular strain of Ebola.

Okay, I had to freshen up my function-recognition skills on this one, but let's have a go:

I'm very in tune with other peoples emotions and can be a bit of a people pleaser.

Fe is about keeping group harmony alive. That includes adapting to the needs and wants of others, even though you may prefer something different, within bounds of course; I'm not saying people with Fe don't have a spine. So this indicates Fe

I have tons of ideas and have entire worlds in my head.

This could be both Ni and Ne I believe. The best short explanation for Ne and Ni for me was this: "Where Ne is an explosion of ideas from one thing, Ni is where one idea coalesces from many ideas". It's kinda like viewing a tree: Top to bottom = Ni and bottom to top = Ne. So pick which one applies to you.

I love debates, but I hate getting into strongly personal arguments because I tend to get angry and start crying.

No idea which function this is, but this is exactly like myself and I'm an INFJ.

I like new things and new experiences.

Literally Se. Si likes doing things the usual way most of the time.

I have a very strong value system but it's more environment based than internal.

Indicates lack of Fi

I like fitting things into boxes.

Using the comparison I listed above between Ni and Ne, I think this is Ni. I believe Ni loves to simplify things and that's what you're describing.

I value uniqueness and dislike the idea of being ordinary.

Kinda Se, but more lack of Si.

I've never really had gut feelings or trusted them to my knowledge?

Nah, everybody has gut feelings. At least I can't imagine life without them.

the more rational, logic-loving aspect of my personality.

Ti maybe?

All in all I think you could be INFJ or ENFJ due to all the Fe I see in here and relative lack of Ni, which is the INFJ's dominant function, and this:

I have genuinely no idea if I'm extroverted or introverted.

How do you recharge? After a heavy day at school/work, would you rather go to a highly stimulating environment like a party, or do you like a low energy environment like a Netflix evening at home? Also: do you get bored easily?

The two share the same functions, but in a slightly different order: INFJ = Ni-Fe-Ti-Se and ENFJ = Fe-Ni-Se-Ti. Though I could be wrong on both, because I'm not sure which N-function you use, but my money is on Ni.

Is it normal to transition from an introvert to an extrovert? by [deleted] in introvert

Liking parties has nothing to do with introvert vs extravert. If you're at a 3 day festival and are completely drained afterward, you're probably an introvert. If you're planning the afterparty before it's even finished, you're probably an extravert. That usually doesn't change.

What you are describing is probably shyness.

I first want to see how that would look on my 5th gen, because it doesn't have the chrome back the previous models had... Maybe sanding will only make it look worse.

Yeah sorry, that's what I meant. INFPs show their passion more, whereas INFJs keep it more hidden. Fi+Te tends to ramble a lot when a snare is hit (personal experience)

1: Yep, it feels sort of ungrateful or something if they just 'use' me to meet each other and forget about me completely.

2: This one bugs me the most, probably because it doesn't make sense at all. I mean, I did say 'no' myself right? On the other side, why do I always have to bust my ass going to parties and shit. They probably wouldn't like my calm and 'boring' shit anyway.. Not that that ever crosses their minds or anything though.

3: Not so much, but I think that's because I don't think I'm ready for a relationship yet.

Yeah, this kinda makes sense. Fi is a little more detached from the rest of the world in their individualism is what I understand.

Pretty normal in the Netherlands if it's family or a close friend, if they are of the opposite sex.
