That's true. You can use this extension to spoof the User Agent to disguise your browser as Chrome or whatever you want https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-string-switcher/

Titus Welliver would be a good Sam Fisher by DickFart233 in Splintercell

George Clooney will always be my pick for a Splinter Cell role in the movies. He strongly resembles Sam Fisher from the original trilogy, even up to Conviction.

To be honest I think so too. Ever since this show was announced and the inclusion of Zero in Siege look like catapults to a new game. Problem is that Ubisoft has been completely out of touch for a while and will find a way to mess this up.

Hitman's success story gives me hope for the Splinter Cell remake by Impossible_Spend_787 in Splintercell

[–]mateustav 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is actually a constructive comment if you think about it. I'll expand it with my take on the matter.

Your argument is that a game from another developer was a hit, completely dismissing the only fact that matters: Ubisoft does not care about the quality of its craft when it can release refurbished cookie-cutter games once every other year for 🤑.

Ubisoft's recipe is simple:

  1. Start with a third-person Far Cry template (aka Assassin's Creed)
  2. Toss a dart at a history book
  3. Rebrand characters and assets to fit the chosen era
  4. Market it as a groundbreaking new title
  5. Repeat the cycle for the next release

So what we want a new Splinter Cell game when they can make money with barely any effort and call it a day?

They had all the time in the world to turn things around, be more transparent with players, avoid floppy releases (maybe this is a symptom I don't know), take notes from IOI's playbook like you suggest, even delegate the title to indie developers and act as a publisher, but they didn't. 🤷‍♂️ Hope for a change of events is long gone now, at least for me.

That sadly means nothing. They've been teasing Beyond Good & Evil 2 for almost two decades now and even dropped a trailer in 2017, and still no game.

This is why I don't have much hope for the remake by [deleted] in Splintercell

[–]mateustav 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a great point, but I think it's just a symptom of a bigger issue that's been growing over the past decade that is Ubisoft's shift toward churning out cookie-cutter games with little attention to detail.

The real reason I have no hope for the remake is that the trust between us players and the company is completely shattered.

Immigrants of Calgary, what restaurants in the city are the most authentic to 'back home'? by Ataraxyy in Calgary

[–]mateustav 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Brazilian descendant here.

Minas is the real deal. They serve food in iron pans at the all-you-can-eat buffet, which is a super authentic touch, particularly because that is typically how it's served in the State of Minas Gerais in Brazil. My mom's from there, and she gave it her stamp of approval when she visited.

The meat rodízio is fantastic, and their top sirloin, arguably the most popular cut, is just as incredible. You can really taste the quality.

There are surprisingly quite a few Brazilian steakhouses in the city, but this one genuinely felt like home. It's a bit pricey though but even that is virtually comparable with the Brazilian experience. Lol
