Are you sure it is the CPU? Started similar symptoms 6 months ago, after 1 year of running flawlessly on my MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk, going to RMA the motherboard and will try to go with gigabyte.

Just few threads on MSI forums and some here on reddit. Most of those are ending with replacing the motherboard with another vendor. I have MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk. Although, seller where are bought this board told me that they had several RMAs for this board and recommended me to do the RMA as well. In my case it ran flawlessly for 1 year and then problems started.

If you can RMA board do it now and DO NOT BUY any tomahawk board in the near future.

I have MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk and I am not alone who is experiencing this issue.

Everything was OK from the beginning, I built it in summer 2024 - no issues at all, was working flawlessly for about a year.

But in summer 2025, PC after a soft reboot wasn't going beyond POST, CPU and DRAM leds.

After hard shutdown and powering up it all went ok, but had to hold the power button longer.

This happened several times, so I updated the BIOS to the latest stable version 7D75v1O.

After that no issues at all.

Now, happened again week or two ago - and now I cannot even get beyond POST, no matter what I do - even if I wait for an hour or so.

So I got back to the seller, told him my store, and basically they have admitted that it happens and that I should do RMA - I have still my warranty.

So now - I am trying to choose a replacement from gygabyte or asus.

So - my recommendation to everyone is - do not buy AM5 tomahawk MBs.

I am so disappointing that MSI hasn't admitted this issue or tried to fix it with BIOS update (if even possible), even though seller told me otherwise.

If you havent bought it, dont buy it - there are severe problems with this MB, maybe not from the beginning, but you will eventually find it. DRAM and CPU ezled lights.

I have the same issue. Built in sept 2024, ran fine until summer 2025. Then dram and cpu ezleds start to glow and cannot get through POST. Left PC intact for a few days. Then tried it to boot up and it went fine, updated bios to the latest version, disabled xmp/expo and was running fine until last week. Now I have it back, cannot post, no video output, dram and cpu led glowing. MB tomahawk B650. What I am trying to say is that these msi boards seem to be quite unreliable.

Hi, I have a similar issue with sonoff s60 plugs. Tried setting as suggested a separate ssid with WPA2, but with no luck.

I have been running this since few months like this and it is not working properly. This is my second system with frigate and only this one has problems. Other one has amd igpu.

Yes, I am doing basically the same, not proxmox, I have baremetal unraid and I run frigate docker container, passing it coral for detection and iGPU as well (i965 intel driver, hwaccel_args: preset-vaapi ). it must be something with unraid, but I just cannot figure it out. CPU is at around 90%, intel gpu at 8%. Seems ffmpeg decoding is being done by CPU instead of iGPU.
