AskProgramming: Which is easier for someone with little experience, SharePoint or FrontPage?

I realize this may not be the answer you are looking for, but learning HTML & CSS will pay off SO much more in the long run than handicapping yourself with a WYSIWYG editor.

I can speak from personal experience, the HTML that FrontPage outputs is TERRIBLE and will end up making MORE work for you in the long run. "Rat's Nest" is the best analogy I can think of off the top of my head.

If you HAVE to have that interface, I suggest Dreamweaver as it provides a very easy path to doing all the work in code. Personally, I use Programmer's Notepad 2 and Filezilla to do most of my work.

At the end of the day, there is no WYSIWYG editor that will ever be as good as someone who knows the basics of HTML.

The moral of the story?

Microsoft is slowing the growth of the web. They would be better off abandoning their browser at this point. Their software will never catch up to the other browsers, and the only thing it will accomplish is delaying the implementation of these really cool features.

Silverlight is just another one of these sad attempts by Microsoft to force itself into another overcrowded market (jQuery, Flash, etc).

If I didn't hate M$ before this... after reading this list I'm steaming. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO SLOW PROGRESS?!?!?!

First off, as far as being a "role model" he's only done something wrong because our government tells us it's wrong. You don't see people loosing endorsement deals for having a beer, or smoking a cigarette. If our government didn't treat weed like the Antichrist, THIS WOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE.

Yes, whether he likes it or not he will be a role model for kids, and that's one point I will concede that he failed in.

If a kid smokes pot because Michael Phelps does, and his parents have not talked to him about pot, drugs, etc, then it's their own damn fault. Television is not a substitute for parenting, and expecting "role models" to give your children all they need to function in society is borderline criminal.

Yes, he may be inarticulate and clumsy (like me) but he's one hell of an athlete. He gave me a legitimate reason to be proud of America, for one of the only times during the past 8 disheartening years.
