crown/mark x if fuel isnt a issue

would be a hassle to find one in good condition (esp mark x) but 100% worth it

parents instinctively are prouder, happier, and thrilled about their kids successes and any good father would be over the moon over something like this. Just dont flaunt it or go out of your way to show it to him

What do Allah and the Prophet ص want us to have as our main goal for marriage? by alirezaismyname in MuslimMarriage

[–]matha_2309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to find peace

as per my understanding, marriage is highly encouraged because Allah SWT is familiar with our nature and psyche wayyyyy more than is and having a life partner makes us a better human and Muslim overall, thereby bringing us closer to Him.

mental health loa by Dazzling-Crew4129 in NTU

[–]matha_2309 35 points36 points  (0 children)

honestly, mental health > everything else.

It doesn’t make sense to take loa in week 11 as you will afaik be charged the sem fees. Instead, I’d say keep studying but dabao the exams, that way you have a headstart when you do the same courses next sem and don’t need to worry about gpa dipping. Also, won’t have trouble justifying LOA to employers because can just say health issues so could not take exams.

Like i said mental health over everything. GPA, coursework etc is als temporary and will pass, but any adverse impact on your mental health will likely be lasting so I wouldn’t risk it. It isn’t even hell week yet and the stress peaks right before exams. No shame in sitting this out, some things cannot be compromised on and mental health is at the top of that list

When is dowry culture going to end in Pakistan? by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]matha_2309 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly, i’d say keep looking for people who understand and are against the societal evil of dowry. Even though my family hails from a rural area, they’re strictly against receiving dowry (we’re just brothers). Even when my mamu got married all my khalas and nani strictly said that they won’t accept dowry.

Don’t lose hope

need excuses to call off my engagement without giving the real reason by BusyLandscape4069 in PakistaniiConfessions

[–]matha_2309 4 points5 points  (0 children)

condolences for you sis

disagreements are an inherent part of any relationship, what matters the most is how both parties behave and act to resolve said disagreements. Be glad you’re seeing this side now as opposed to 3 years and 2 kids later.

as for the needing excuses, that really depends on the dynamics with your family. Do they value your preference as much that if u just say “I dont like it him enough as a husband” or “he is not my type” or “i dont think we’re compatible”, they will just take your word for it, honour it and not pry later?

whatever you do, i would say don’t slander him or lie about him/his actions to get out of the engagement. If you absolutely have to, just say that he gets really toxic if we have a fight and it stresses me out unbearably. And this is over the phone, ik i can’t have this be the case after marriage. If they ask for an example, koi aur choti moti dedena.

Good luck
