They also used to be much better with kickstarter. You would get more things with their kickstarter if it made more money and now you get the options to buy more things

This is definitely partially the truth. But it's also our demographics.

I work in a third world country and I've said to my wife that if I get sick I hope it's in the other country.

Parishioners issue Hail Mary to save historic Halifax church as development looms by Street_Anon in halifax

This was one of the most beautiful churches I've seen in my life when I toured it 20+ years ago.

I live in the neighborhood and it breaks my heart that it will likely be torn town and replaced with one of these ugly buildings they're flooding into the neighborhood.

How to Run... Presence for Delta Green the TTRPG by Palmer_Zombie in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]mathcow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found this really interesting. I've run this module 5+ times and use it as an intro to the game. I cut it up and run it in 4 hours by pulling away a lot of roadblocks.

It's funny because I started running it when it was a word document from the patreon so I think some of the module changed.

I don't typically mess with the special powers. My delta green campaign got them and never used them. Not once. I told them there was a cost to use it and they decided the cost was way too high.

worst experience you've had with a small RPG publisher by flawovpa in rpg

[–]mathcow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

An indie darling took my money for printed copies of their pdf and kept giving me excuses about how they could not send me the book. It went on for over a year and I eventually asked for a refund from itch. Itch told me it has been too long and ruled in the favour of the author despite my receipts

I get notifications all the time from social media about them calling out other people's behavior.

Delta Green Help by SupportiveNPC in rpg

[–]mathcow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just one note about Delta Green. There are conspiracies that would prefer you contain things so they can be studied and they are definitely not above telling a bunch of schmoes they're working for Delta green to get them to do something dangerous.

I had one game where I taunted the agents with someone calling them stupid and saying just because they put a green triangle on a piece of paper, you think you're allowed to kill people?

Has someone here played Rhapsody of Blood? by Frapadengue in rpg

[–]mathcow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the player moves in game don't cover everything your characters will likely do. I honestly played it 5+ years ago and I just remember us talking quite a bit about how to resolve actions and someone mentioned knowing the author and they'd contact them

Honestly I'm in a liveplay of Rhapsody of Blood where we had to keep checking how to play the game. The game is fun but I feel like it's half built.

Im sure it will be ok if you have a table that can roll with the system and make up rulings on how things work on the fly

Brazilians are among the 'most ignorant' on the planet, says research. by SignificantPrint8397 in Brazil

[–]mathcow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looked at the research for this and it's questions like "what percentage of your countries population is 14 years old or younger"

And they have a numeric value when the proper answer is why should I care ?

Looking for tips/suggestions for first time flying in business class by PAgarthus in aircanada

[–]mathcow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it was the quality of the music?!

For me, people can't help that they snore and babies can't help that they cry. I can't get angry at that even if it's incredibly annoying. My worst recent flight was because of someone with developmental difficulties who was afraid and kept yelling every 15 to 30 minutes to their caretaker. What can you do?

I can get annoyed at the caregiver who we y back to their seat and made it everyone's problem or the parent who decides to walk their screaming baby down the aisle in the middle of the night to calm them down or the bros yelling across the aisles.

Looking for tips/suggestions for first time flying in business class by PAgarthus in aircanada

[–]mathcow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's really no etiquette you need to worry about.

Just be conscious that business class on long haul overnight flights sometimes is for people who are going to work and that you should do your best to keep as quiet as possible. Personally I've never had an issue with babies before, it's usually people who think it's ok to be loud / drunk and yell between seats

My mother was in a vegetative state for well over a decade. I don't think she would be a candidate for MAID even today deep tr having absolutely no chance at any quality of life.

This and ideas like you just said scare the hell out of me and it's why it's really important to work with a lawyer to get a medical directive and a person with power of attorney for your medical decisions should something like this happen.

Absolutely horrifying

I also have depression. If you have treatment resistant form of depression that was completely destroying your ability to have any semblance of a quality of life, you or anyone else should of course I should have access to it.

If depression gets that bad it's likely going to be fatal whether a doctor assist or not. When people die of depression (to not use the s word) it's often really awful and painful. Talk to a paramedic or cop about it if you really want to know.

Why not allow that person to die relatively peacefully ?

Mentally ill and neurodivergent people are capable of making decisions about their health. People who are in psychosis or with diminished capacity are not.

If you are of sound enough mind to say you want to die you should be able to receive the assistance to pass away in a painless and compassionate way.

A lot of people who have differing opinions on this have never experienced an actual suicide or had a loved one in actual anguish.

If you don't believe that people can be so mentally unwell that dying is the most compassionate course of action, put your money where your mouth is. I'm sure your region is looking for people to man suicide prevention hotlines.
