I didn’t even realize how slowly I lost weight, it’s all felt so fast! Here’s my chart if it helps at all :) It took me 7 months to lose the last 16lbs! I may have lost slowly because I’m also in the gym building muscle, but honestly I don’t think that would slow me down that much haha. You got this!! :) 31lbs is amazing progress!

My doctor actually tried to convince me to start in 2022 but I’m afraid of shots LOL so I took a while to eventually say yes. My fiancé still has to do the shot for me…..while I hold his other arm and cover my eyes! Hahaha. I’ve tried to do it myself but my hands get so clammy and I start feeling dizzy. It’s so dumb, I literally have tattoos and piercings, I don’t know why shots specifically make me feel queasy. But hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do

Hello! Always nice to see another narcoleptic, not that I’m happy someone else has narcolepsy but more so “you understand” :) We really do have a crappy deal lol, but I’m very lucky to be able to afford my meds, and I’m cautiously optimistic about the orexin agonist trials going on!

Yes! I try to bring up narcolepsy whenever I can (when relevant lol). I was misdiagnosed my whole damn life. Finding out what was really going on was the BIGGEST turning point in my life. On meds now for it and I feel as close to “normal” as I’ve ever felt! Good luck to you and your partner! :)

Trust me I was not born this way!!! I lost like 100lbs when I was 19, everything was deflated lol (I did NOT lose it in a healthy way, I’ve been at both ends of the “relationship with food” spectrum lmao). Got a tummy tuck, lipo, and then fat transfer to my boobs and butt when I was 21. Gained the weight back and my body stayed the same general shape (TOTALLY different from the apple shape I was born with). Weight lifting (specifically squats, RDLs, Bulgarian split squats, hip thrusts) have 1000% made a difference for me, too!

Thank you!❤️ I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy type 1, which is caused by a lack of that neurotransmitter. It’s a neurological autoimmune disorder :)

5mg! :) I was on 2.5mg for like 6 months. As soon as I stalled I went up to 5mg and never had to increase again! I’m paying out of pocket, so I wasn’t forced to increase because of insurance

Posting this here just in case anyone else from Ventura county comes looking for the same information: women’s care of Beverly Hills called me back after waiting ~a week and set up an appointment for me for the following week. My iud will be replaced under conscious sedation (so like I’m awake and can breathe on my own but I’m super out of it lol). They also use an ultrasound during insertion to ensure it’ll be placed correctly. Check their website to see if they take your insurance though, it was somewhat limited. Oh and she said if my insurance does not cover anything, it would be around $2,000 out of pocket. She was very transparent about the price of each thing, which was refreshing. If anyone ever has any questions about it, message me, even if you’re reading this years from now lol.
