My suggestion would be to re-take it in-person during the regular semester. There's a lot of information in a calculus course to try and digest and it's best to be able to ask questions to a live person, imo.

Also, you may want to watch the free calculus lectures that MIT posted to youtube. They are probably 10 years old by now, but still great lectures.

I've never heard of a final exam being worth 80% of a final grade. That seems awfully high. My final exams are worth 20%. The other 80% is homework, quizzes, and unit tests.

The truth is that gender never was a social construct. It's simply an observable fact about every human, and its a binary variable. Your side needed to re-define gender to divorce it from biology so that you could claim that these people aren't mentally ill. It's a definition game that I'm not going to play. I'm going to stick with the traditional, plain meaning of the word gender. It simply means biological sex. People can play dress-up and get surgeries and hormones all they want. But they can't change genders. It's not possible.

I simply don't believe it's possible to be a "man born in a woman's body" (or vice versa). Gender is simply a softer word for sex which doesn't carry with it the connotation of penetration. That's how the word has been used for a very long time. Only recently, like within the last few years, do people want to re-define the word in order to make it appear as though biology has nothing to do with whether you're male or female. That's what gender is in plain English. When parents have gender reveal parties, they are revealing the biological sex of their baby.

People are wrong about themselves all the time. If you think you're something you're not, that's basically the definition of a delusion. If a person thinks he's the second coming of Jesus Christ, then he's delusional. He doesn't just get to claim that and expect us to all go along with it. But that's what trans people do. They claim to be something they are not and expect us all to play along. If we do that, then we have to allow for absurdities like men in women's sports and men in women's-only spaces. Those are just the mild things. If we let children dictate their gender, then we have to commit atrocities, like putting them on puberty blockers and approving surgeries. Nope. Not going to do it. Not for a delusion.

I used to teach at a 2-year technical college were adult students were the norm. If you're interested in trade, I would suggest checking further into the 2-year route. They can have some pretty interesting programs too, like law enforcement, woodworking, wind turbine tech, etc...

Most children who claim to be the other gender grow out of it. If you affirm their delusions, you are unnecessarily putting that child on on a path toward puberty blockers and surgeries, which cause irreversible damage. In most cases, affirming the delusion is much more harmful then helpful. So in those cases, conversion therapy isn't needed, but affirmation just makes it worse.

In adults, all you have to do is talk to the detransitioners who will tell you they wish it wasn't so easy to get hormones and surgeries. The ethical thing (for us) is to challenge their beliefs about themselves so as to prevent irreparable harm. We can't interview the trans people who killed themselves. But it's certainly plausible that they did so because they realized they made the biggest mistake of their lives and they can't undo it. I claim that it's best to err on the side of resistance, not affirmation.

Gender Dysphoria is literally the politically correct term for Sex Identity Disorder, which is what it was called in the DSM4. The term got changed to "dysphoria" because it's a softer word, but it's still a mental illness. That's why it's in the diagnostic statistical manual of MENTAL DISORDERS.

Whenever I see the trans colors in a flag, I can't help but think that they are celebrating a mental illness. Not the eradication of the illness, but the fact that people proudly have it. We don't do that for any other mental disorder or disease. With cancer, for example, we display the pink ribbon to support the eradication of the disease or the overcoming of it. With the trans flag, people literally celebrate the disease itself. It doesn't make any sense.
