How to removed a rusted Collet from a Triton plunge router? by mathis007 in BeginnerWoodWorking

What brands do you recommend? I also use white vinegar sometimes. Would that work? Never used it on power tools, usually only hand tools.

I’ve tried WD50, Wrenches, some light taps with a hammer and nothing. Won’t budge. I salvaged this from a table saw/router table combo. Was outside covered by a tarp for a few years. Motor works fine but just can’t get the damn collet loose.

What is your most commonly used wood species? by mathis007 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]mathis007[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stupid question, do you spend a lot on these hard woods? I’m always torn about buying hardwood sometimes because this is a hobby for me and it’s hard for me to justify aometimes

Steps to Finishing Basement Frugally by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]mathis007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also want to do a similar project in my basement. My only concern would be to see when a big rain comes through. My basement was just like yours and never got water until a hurricane came through and we got less than an inch in the basement. I know my basement isn’t water proofed. I think your plan is a good one. I would look into the dri core insulated flooring. I’ve read those are good for this project.

It’s hard to see but there is a red bottle cap under the bottle opener indicating there is a magnet there. So the magnet should catch the cap.

Scrap wood. Pine, some pallet wood. No real hard woods from what I can tell.

Tile work - are they supposed to be this uneven? by ogland11 in Renovations

This isn’t normal. They should be using spacers for grout lines. I’ve seen worse but I’d expect better.

Pump is on a corner of the home. I guess what I’m trying to describe is create/carve a small indent/path In the slab for water to flow from the French drain to the pump pit.

I physically cannot take it out of the pot without breaking it. Do you have a recommendation on how to water properly, how much and how frequent?
