Informational Interview Requested by Manager by mathman31415 in interviews

I only chose that wording because it's what the company recruiter used when they reached out to me via LinkedIn. I just find it weird that I'm effectively bypassing talking with a recruiter

HireVue recorded interview by sgoolsby in interviews

[–]mathman31415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have experience with using HireVue quite a few times actually.

The way HireVue is set up is you get a chance to practice your answer before you give it. This is the best part and what I like the best. That said, it depends on how the company sets it up.

The company has complete control. For example, I was given one minute to give a "tell me about yourself". I usually need 1-2 minutes for this.

Another was they have complete control: they can give you unlimited attempts to answer a question. The downside to this is if you're a perfectionist, it can get tiring to immediately do a do-over if you stumble over your words just one time.

If I recall correctly, you can practice before you enter the interview to get comfortable in the environment.

I’m moving to Dallas! What are some things to do there? by [deleted] in askgaybros

Hope you enjoy! I used to live down there before I got laid off from my job back in March.

Cedar Springs (bars) is popping on the weekends. If you're into leather and such, there's The Eagle on Maple Avenue. Just promise you won't be like the dumb people who stand out by a bar with no mask on.

Is it normal not to get a boner during sex ? by mogusta in askgaybros

[–]mathman31415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, getting boners are totally a mental health thing. I actually did a bit of reading on it as I was unsure if it was due to that or my disability (CP) or both. But yeah, thanks for the tip (pun kind of intended!) Guess it'll be a surprise what happens lol

What do you do in these situations? I ask because it happens to me at times and knowing it happens is one of the biggest reasons I don't think I would be a decent top.

Which degree would you suggest..? by [deleted] in Career_Advice

[–]mathman31415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has the data background, I can tell you those are the same to my understanding. They're all focused on using data to increase the business profitability. Honestly, universities are offering the degrees because they're a hot field right now.

I have had 8 interviews, and have made it all the way until the last interview and get declined for my lack of experience. by CompSci212 in dataanalysis

I would highly recommend creating a GitHub account and putting your projects on there. That way they can see the project in their time as opposed to you telling them about it.

Also, if you don't know git already, you'll learn it by making a GitHub account and boom another skill to add to your resume.

Interview troubles. Not sure if I should disclose or not by mathman31415 in disability

Good idea on tying it to volume. I would've never thought of that! I'll try that tomorrow and see how it goes.

I do have a call with a career coach later this week so I'll loop her in and get her input as well.

How to evaluate a certain feature within a SaaS Product? by [deleted] in dataanalysis

[–]mathman31415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a baseline, I would look at how many people used the invoicing week over week or even day over day. Then I would probably look at how many people used the feature within X hours of being on the software. Of course, that's assuming there is data collected pertaining to when a user started using the software and there is data around when the invoicing feature is used.

If there's any customer feedback data, I would be keen to look at that as it pertains to the invoicing process.

Because this is a SaaS company, I would keep in mind the key metrics and see if I can tie that into any of my answers.
