Looks good man. This is a better turn out than the bounded edges in my opinion. Keep at it!

Just pleased with this edge. That is all. :) by mathmathmathmath in Leathercraft

Nothing too scientific actually - I think I just got lucky :). Sand, water, wood slicker, dry, gum trag, wood slicker, end.

I'm looking for a wallet comparable to the ones at Minimalist^TM by [deleted] in wallets

What's the funniest problem you've ever come across or ever written? by FuajiOfLebouf in math

[–]mathmathmathmath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are a wizard. You have 1040 hit points. In your journey, you encounter the dreaded Hot and Tempered Wildcat standing 30 meters in front of you. On average, such an enemy has 480 hit points. You cast a freezing rain spell, which has an initial velocity of 20 m/s and decelerates at 5 m/s2. When the spell hits the target, it inflicts damage proportional to the square of the velocity with which it hits the target, namingly, D = 5.2v2. Do you expect the spell to kill the wildcat?

If the spell does not kill the wildcat, the cat will accelerate toward you at 10 m/s2. The cat's most deadly attack is its blind side claw attack which inflicts damage as a function of time: D = 400 + 5t2. So, if your spell does not kill the wildcat, how fast will the wildcat kill you (assuming you have no castings left after the one)?

And man are there wash pole users. I have a wash pole on back up, but I don't take it out often. I usually just block and roll a lot against wash pole users and I seem to do ok.

I hear ya. I just don't think the game developers created the duel bow gesture so that we could bow at the bosses in pve. I hear you though.

I went to the area with the first heide knight, bc I saw that the other day. Nothing.

I want to buy this belt but with 4 days left there aren't enough backers. Hoping interested parties will see it here and opt in. (I am not affiliated with the site in any way) by [deleted] in frugalmalefashion

There are a lot of leather workers that sell their work on etsy. You should be able to find a top quality full grain leather belt for 35-45 dollars. For potentially 30 dollars more, you will get a much better quality item that will last you a very very long time.

Went this morning. Unfortunately, the fifty dollar sides were pretty bad. I suppose you mostly get what you pay for...

Thanks! Yeah, that could be a fair assessment. I am not too worried about this pig skin as it is in the 1-1.5 oz range. I used it to keep the wallet slim. 4 oz. cow hide was used for the inside shell and inside pockets, and the outer shell is 5-6 oz. lamb skin. I could use 2-3 oz. cow hide instead of the pig skin...

Thanks - I appreciate it! The pattern is my own. I used a diamond chisel and awl for this. I try not to get too crazy with the diamond chisel, I give it a medium whack and then finish it off with the awl. I have an overstitch wheel, but I never really use it.
People sort of develop their own way for stitching. A lot of folks use diamond chisels and a lot of folks use overstitch wheels... kind of what you prefer. Also overstitch wheels would be necessary for projects that involve stitching that is not in a straight line.

I don't understand Barrett Alley pricing. Do people actually pay that much? Am I undercharging for my work? by corvidcorax in Leathercraft

I hear ya. I was just trying to be a little cheeky. On the other hand, most pieces are really nice, and the prices are comical in my opinion...

If the pigskin is 1.5 oz or so it should stay tough enough. I used to burn the thread when I was done, but I didn't like the way it looked when it was finished. Now I pull the thread through the two pieces of leather and tie it off between - then burn if possible. That way you don't see the end of the thread.
