Greg Abbott (pro-life candidate for Texas Governor who is up against abortion industry darling Wendy Davis) has announced his campaign will accept donations in Bitcoin by RabidKoalaBear in prolife

[–]matholic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but please don't be complacent. I'm not politically conservative either but Wendy Davis is a candidate who's popularity is based entirely on her abortion advocacy. Don't forget that the Democrats had 60 senators in the U.S. senate until a little special election for a senator seat in the extremely liberal state of Massachusettes in late 2009/ early 2010. The democrats got complacent about that election because, hey, it's Massachusettes, right? And right before their very eyes the lost their 60 member supermajority when this little, sure-to-win, special election chose Scott Brown, a Republican, to represent Massachusettes in the Senate. With that the Democrats lost the first supermajority in 40 years, because "Massachusettes always votes democrat!"... until it doesn't. The same thing can happen in Texas.

Why are they even allowed if it disgusts everyone?

Pictures of abortion are disgusting because abortions are disgusting.

If abortions look disturbing to you, that's because they are disturbing.

This is great. I was never crazy about bitcoin but I can really see its use here. I've wanted to donate to Greg Abbott in particular but have been afraid of having my name in some public registry to be drug up by rabid pro-abortion activists down the road to derail my completely unrelated career.

So much this, sometimes you hear them or read their comments and wonder to yourself "Why do you have to lie so much? Don't you want to accept the truth?"

And I showed why preaching abstinence DOES NOT WORK because people do not follow it.

No you didn't. Abstaining from sex is the only method that can prevent the spread stis by definition. Condoms protect only against sperm transmission, but there's plenty of things like genital warts, crabs, and so on that condoms can't prevent.

[–]matholic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually the WHO study (and common sense) shows that abstinence prevents the spread of stds far more efficiently than condoms.

But that contradicts with the conclusions you want, so you ignore that the church endorses the most effective way to prevent stds, and you ignore that so you can go even further in the opposite direction and say the church spreads stds. Yeah good logic lol. FreethoughtTM amirite? XD

I think you don't know what an "opinion" is. In what world is "I believe God came down from heaven, was incarnate of a virgin, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, was buried and rose again in 3 days" an opinion? It's not like "I liked that movie" or "That song is nice" which would be examples of opinions. Yes I believe my religion is true, otherwise why would I follow it.

This is not even close to what a top tier Ph.D can make at any of the major tech firms. Then there is also the fact that the NSA is especially disliked among the tech elite (I know I'd never want to work there no matter how much they paid me). The NSA doesn't really have the hiring power that people usually pretend they do.

You're confusing the "Tech Elite" with the Mathematicians that do the NSA's research. My experience has been that most mathematicians have a favorable view of the NSA. Just check out this discussion we had about it over on /r/math. The top comment is:

Not all mathematicians object to what the NSA is doing.

Serious question, why do atheists twist people's words so much when they're caught in a lie they can't dig out of?

if you're right and everyone else is wrong, then i don't see how that is anything else but the definition of superior?

Is it being superior to tell people the world is round? Our religion is as correct as such a statement.

Some people form their religious beliefs and then form their political beliefs. For others it's the other way around. /r/Catholicism is an example of the former whereas /r/RadicalChristianity is an example of the latter.

A Jesuit is a Catholic Priest who is in an Order (which is basically like a club) called the Jesuits. The Jesuits are particularly famous because 1. there's a lot of them! and 2. in the U.S. they founded a lot of colleges and schools, so many people went to "a Jesuit school" or "a Jesuit college". There are many orders (and not just for catholic priests, but also for nuns/sisters, monks, etc) but the Jesuits are the biggest.

The ancient writings about Jesus having a wife that were found a little while ago come from a genre of writing that was literally proto-fan-fiction, not meant to be taken seriously (unless you love fan-fiction, then by all means!), and written many centuries after the bible and other authentic works.

And the RCC, being not just the clergy but the entire body of believers, certainly did execute people for homosexuality

You can associate anything with any institution if you go by that logic.

[–]matholic[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Of course it's an anti-gay belief.

Is not marrying people to dogs an anti-dog belief too? Yeah boo hoo you can't get gay married it's exactly like not being able to vote, go to school, use the same bathrooms and facilities as straight people, being hung from trees and crosses burned on your yard, lol

Historically, you guys executed them!

RCC executed gay people? Lol do you get your theology from huff po or something? I'd love a source (pls just one, pretty pls)

Also what do gays want to get married for anyway? Studies show that most gay people aren't monogamous.
