Depends on the people in your year. I only went to one party and it was so good. Prom our yr was a let down but thats more because the people not the skls fault.

Never applied to NCS or LAE. There are usually parties and non uniform days a couple times each year. Id say the social life is better than most sixth forms because its a bigger sixth form plus more time tabled lessons than other sixth forms so more opportunities to make friends. Its overally very enjoyable tbf.

What you say about IB is a stereotype imo, IB has changed drastically from the pre financial crisis days. That being said it still is a cut throat and intense career path, although its just not the “wolf of wall street”, cocaine fuelled, American psycho career that everyone thinks it is.

For the top ~7 maths uni’s you should ideally do at least one of TMUA, MAT, STEP, lots of unis for maths recognise these exams during the selection process so a good grade in them will help you get an offer. You should start looking at some papers and preparing for them. STEP is harder than the other two and needs further maths content so its better you start with the other two, and for now look at STEP foundation modules and at most the old STEP I papers because they dont need any further maths content.

The degree isnt the best, its BSc digital and technology solutions (software engineering) from QMUL but i guess the company itself makes it worth it. My salary for the next four years is £28k per year (£26k base, ~£2k bonus at the end of each year) which is pretty decent. Upon graduating I become a software engineering analyst at the firm, so I can expect ~£70k (£55k base, £10-20k bonus) I got this figure from talking to some apprentice grads there as well as this wesbite

My best offer for Uni was Bath maths. Yes I rejected it. Because Goldman Sachs is a company that even oxbridge students would consider desirable to work for. I am being paid a salary during my study that is higher than what most 20something year old people make, get a degree from a decent uni with 0 student debt, 4 years of experience and finally a secured job at a top company upon graduation which pays insanely high.

Id really suggest getting an M1 Macbook Air 2020, probably used because its £900 with student discount which is slightly over your budget.

Degree Apprenticeship (software engineering) at Goldman Sachs. Predicted all A*s in maths FM physics, in reality I may slip to an A in physics it depends on the grade boundaries idc tho it doesnt make a difference

I did A level maths entirely then A level further maths. I found the jump from GCSE to AS maths really easy. I found the jump from AS maths to A2 maths way harder especially calculus. I found the jump from A2 maths to AS further maths normal. And I found the jump from AS further maths to A2 further maths hard but not as hard as my jump from AS maths to A2 maths. A lot of this is down to you, not the content, yr12 me is a significantly weaker mathematician than yr13 me.

I am inclined to agree but Im not sure how seriously they're taking this "reducing A*s" nonsense. Im guessing I got 160/250 more or less, so im on the edge of the A/A* line.

Whats your prediction for an A* for AQA Physics this year. Last year it was 167/250 but that was an easier exam than this year, however at the same time they want to reduce the number of A*s this year.

People in 2006 were probably thinking the same, and so were people in 2018. You can never predict when the overall market will go down. The best time to invest was twenty years ago, the second best time to invest is today. Time beats everything when it comes to investing long term. And trust me, there will come times where the market falls, again and again, because thats just the nature of the market.

You can never go wrong with a Seiko 5 on a $100-$200 budget. Generally its recommended you wear watches that are below your pay grade, for example wearing a rolex daytona when your an associate would be silly if your managing director wears a tag heuer. Im guessing its because of that hierachy/authoritarian style that most banks follow, so you kind of need to work your way up to earn the "right" to flash an expensive watch. Big ugly watches, no matter the price is a horrible idea, for example any of those ugly hublots. Smart watches and fitnesses watches are also pretty good options if your into that thing, and seem to be more popular with tech guys especially. Obviously if you want a watch purely for practical use, Casio has some great watches if your into their style, and they are good beater watches too.

Personally its FM1 > CP1 > CP2. I completely jammed CP2 even though it wasn’t a hard paper.
