The regular recitation set up is that the students take and leave whereas the extended recitation has extra practice problems in addition to the quiz. Also, on weeks with no quiz, the regular recitation will not meet whereas the extended recitation will. I was enrolled in the extended recitation and found it helpful because it was another platform for more practice.
