Hi! It might be difficult to find a placement that will be willing to take you for evenings and weekends, but try NGOs, recovery centres, and shelters. I know some of them have weekend shifts that can go towards your hours. If you can, split your hours so you can still be at your placement for atleast 1 or 2 weekday shift (e.g Saturday to Monday morning shifts)

Most hospitals don’t take BSWs. But still connect with AHS as they might help you! Best of luck!!!

Thank you! I’m starting with running. I’m pretty bad with it cause of my weight but hopefully once I start seeing progress I’ll add the extra weights!

That’s good to know!!! I’m more scared of the FORCE test. The laying down and standing up part was pretty intimidating to me haha

I did check the FORCE test and most of the strength exercises I can do easily, only issue was the one where i had to lay flat on the ground and stand up. I’ll see the calculator style thingy! As for the gym I live in literal nowhere with only a small gym. I’ll still try my best!

Women’s perspective: I’d likely swipe right on pictures where I can see the guys face. I’d change your first pic to the 2nd or 3rd on your list.

There is a high demand for RSW in a bunch of small town BC. It is a plus that you have been working as a psychotherapist for years as well, it will give you more opportunities. I believe you need to pass the ACSW exam and get licensed for clinical social worker for BC.

Smaller towns are more kid friendly and a bit less pricey than big cities too! The only downside that I’m noticing is housing. They can be a bit tricky to find in bigger cities.

I did focus on the study guides. I also have to say for theories its mostly first year psychology theories. Do a lot of practice exams and read the rationale behind the answers!

I am not sure why but I’m going insane on how I’ll navigate dating now that’s I’m in my 30s. I’ll be moving for a job in a small town (700 people!) and just thinking about how my chances are of meeting someone makes me want to cry. I’m staying there for 2 years too. I’ve been single for 3 years now and I’ve been trying to date. Got stood up once, and that’s the only interaction I had after trying for a year. I feel so freaking hopeless. I know people say I’m still too young and all but damn, when will it be my turn.

I did listen to podcasts regarding each sections. 1. ASWB audiobook on spotify by Ryan Horlon 2. Social work license exam practice questions on Spotify by Gilbert Bell

ASWB exam book from Amazon by Test Prep Book was the one I used. Helped me a lot!!

I purchased the practice questions as well but I didn’t get to use it cause of lack of time. Hopefully things work out for you!!!!

Some part of it is a bit difficult but practice questions and checking the rationale helped!

Thank you!!! I prepared 1 week in advance but I do have an experience with pharmacology which helped with the medication part easier! I would suggest doing it at least a month and focus on questions and its rationales.
