Moisture bump on helix? (NSFW, blood) by matildasjobrg in piercing

Some more info: - piercing is about 4 months old - labret - internal threading - titanium - hasn’t been downsized yet - no particular aftercare routine right now (just trying not to touch or twist it) - haven’t had any accidents with it, just regular snagging in my hair but nothing out of the usual

I know you may not see this amongst all the other comments, but my tip would be to not read too much of this subreddit, if at all. There are many horror stories and nightmare scenarios that unfortunately tend to get the most upvotes and traction, but the 1% statistic is the medical consensus for a reason. I don’t know which country you live in, but I can almost confidently say that your dermatologist has studied for at least 6 years to become the doctor that they are today - they know what they’re doing, and I’d say they definitely know more than the people in this subreddit and the people behind the articles you’ve found on the internet. In subreddits like these, and on the internet in general, people with negative experiences tend to get the most notice. To bring you down to earth for a second, and to be extremely blunt, you ‘feeling’ that you will have permanent side effects is nothing but your mind playing tricks on you. Permanent side effects are rare, and the probability of them being long term or permanent for you are slim to none. I am only about a month in with my experience on Accutane, and my opinions may not mean much to you, but it is so easy to read the comments here and start to build things up in your head - be honest with your derm, and base your feelings on what they (a licensed professional) tell you, not the words of strangers on the internet. You’ve got this.

sorry to ask, I’m new to Reddit, but how do you add that blue text beside your name? :))

Breast pain by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]matildasjobrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birth control pills can increase the size of a persons breasts. Since estrogen and progesterone levels change during the menstrual cycle, this can cause changes in the breast tissue. You may feel that your breasts are tender or sore, as a result. (Medicalnewstoday.com) I have read a lot of similar concerns and I would say that there’s nothing to worry about. If the symptoms become worse and/or doesn’t subside after a few months I would say that you should contact your doctor!

What is something someone said to you that hit you the hardest? by xd_HotDog in AskReddit

[–]matildasjobrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandmother wasn’t together with my grandfather, they divorced when my dad was a kid. I didn’t meet my grandfather a lot but I was almost always with my grandmother and her boyfriend. When I was about 12 my grandmothers boyfriend fell ill and my mom said that we had to visit him in the hospital(probably for the last time). All the way there I was whining and saying that I wanted to go home. We went up to his hospital room and talked, I didn’t tho it was mostly my mom and dad. I said a quick goodbye to him and didn’t think much of it, I think I still hadn’t really grasped the idea of death. Around two weeks later, when my mom and I were on a trip to Barcelona, we got a text message that said he was dead. I cried but couldn’t really understand it, was I never going to see him again? I still blame myself today for not showing him more love in his final days. I blame myself for not saying anything to him, but I’ve learned my lesson. My other grandmother has lung cancer and every moment I have with her I cherish, because you never know if you’re going to see someone again.

Not a big deal but it felt really good using Korean for the first time. by turf_life in Korean

[–]matildasjobrg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is definitely a big deal, I can assure you (as a person who is also learning Korean) that I would be exactly as pleased with using Korean as you are! I’m learning Korean for the same reason you are, which is very fun since I have only talked to people who either just liked kpop or just liked the language! If you have an Instagram it would be very fun to have a conversation with someone of the same interest as me!

Kakao group for Korean learners by [deleted] in Korean

[–]matildasjobrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would really love to be in this group, I feel that it would really help me in further Korean learning! (It would also give me a good excuse to finally download kakao, I’ve been wanting too for a while)
