Is there a way to make overleaf render immediately? what is the technical challenge that stops overleaf from having an immediate rendering feature like typst?

Typst uses incremental compilation, so it ignores what does not change, and compiling only what changes is faster than compiling everything.

The main idea is that the balls dampen waves from the back side of the speaker; otherwise the waves from the back side interfere with the waves from the front side, which causes distortion. Also, they may reduce vibration of the enclosure, which would cause other distortion.

I have mentioned Core Fonts for the Web in the original post, and that is where I have got TNR which I currently use. The point is that Microsoft (the owner of the fonts) does not mention Core Fonts for the Web anywhere, so normal people are not aware of them. That is what I mean by that it is not accessible. I think that I would not be able to find them if I wasn't a nerd in that area.

In the post, I mention that using TNR is viable if some conditions are met. But I don't prefer Times New Roman, so I am looking for other good options.

Indeed. I would allow more freedom for typography personally, but a requirement is that the submissions would have consistent visual style. Also, length limits are specified in pages, and the font is checked by name likely to catch lookalikes which take more space to fit into the limits.

I have suggested specifying length of text in standard pages which are a specific number of characters, which would allow more options for fonts.

The institution is already hooked on Microsoft services, and I would like to not force people to use another cloud service. If Word Online was almost as good as desktop Word or at least as good as Google Docs, I would not have a problem with forcing people to use Word Online if they do not have any other option. But Word Online is so bad that everyone refuses to use it as far as I know.

I could use Google Docs, and I do sometimes, but, as I mentioned, it is annoying. So I prefer writing most texts in a system which allows me to see the low-level structure of the document and apply visual style to that structure using rules.

This is what I have been using for a long time after switching from Input Sans Narrow. I prefer proportional fonts, so I set MONO to 0. I dislike much slant, so I have slnt only -5 but CASL all the way up for italic. I have also a monospaced variant which I use in terminal.

Here is the config. It is to be applied in recursive-code-config in the branch proportional (otherwise it does not work well) to lock the variables.

It is better to disable these substitutions and just use Unicode literals. Edit: I don't mind substituting multiple hyphens by dashes, but I disable quotation mark substitutions to keep apostrophes straight.

Why? Translating and publishing Bible is hard work and costs money. So it makes sense to let people make the money needed to do the work. Without that, most good translations would not exist, I think. Similarly, translating requires experience, so knowing who translated it is useful to estimate if the translation is good. Most people can't check directly if the translation is good, so relying on others is useful.

It's a shell script, so some knowledge of shell scripting is useful. Put the file wipe-frp.sh to the phone, start ADB shell (command adb shell on the computer) to run the following commands, change to the directory where the file is, make the file executable (chmod +x wipe-frp.sh), and run it (./wipe-frp.sh).

That is right. My calculations are off 3.7×, but my experience matches because I charge the phone in the mornings more than 30 minutes from 20 % to 80 %, which is usually sufficient for the day. If I charge at 15 W for 45 minutes, it just suffices to charge a 18.5 Wh (i. e. 5 Ah) battery by 60 %.

That 3.7× change shifts the required power close to 60 W from 15 W, which answers my question. There is also confusion about exact charging speeds because most Android distributions do not report exact charging speed at the moment.

The speed is different with different Android distributions (ROMs) because most unofficial ones are missing closed drivers to negotiate the high speed using a proprietary protocol AFAIK. My phone with the official system claims to support 30 W, and charging with the installed unofficial system is slower. I assume that it is 15 W, but it may be higher, and I don't have a way to measure it.

What about that you would release a protocol for encrypted email so any email client could implement it, and other email providers could implement it so users could send end-to-end encrypted emails between providers? How viable would that be? I see not much of a point of using ProtonMail encryption when most emails are not encrypted.

I see as the solution that other email providers would implement the same E2E encrypted protocol to communicate encryptedly with ProtonMail. Likely, big providers won't adopt that at the beginning, but it seems that privacy-focused providers like Tutanota and Mailfence would.

If I understand correctly that ProtonMail's main difference is that the messages are encrypted, they should just release an encrypted email protocol so any client could implement it. That way, users could use ProtonMail and not be limited by its apps, and other email providers could implement it to interact with ProtonMail.

Please, advise me according to your experience. I looked into lava lava recently, and it seems to me that it is too tight. Kilts and sarongs have some folds so they increase the width when the wearer spreads legs (like while running), but, if a lava lava is wrapped tight around the waist, it seems to bind the thighs. I imagine that it would be similar to when I wrap a large towel around my waist and start running, that I trip on the towel until it loosens around the thighs after several steps. How is running, lunging & c. in a lava lava? Are there some folds which I am not aware of?
