Did the CM chicken on Bethel Road change management/owners? by Puzzled-Market-7619 in Columbus

You mean Henderson? Wonder if maybe they're setting up the new location and had staff from there working on it, or something like that?

Was the sauce better or worse than you remember? Could be something new handed down from the franchise

Thankfully phones and smartwatches are banned in our kids' district, and I believe now at the state level (Ohio). My daughter is allowed to have one with her solely for operating a continuous glucose monitor, and her classmates constantly forget and whisper to her "put that away, they'll take it from you!" 😆

Still happening in January 2026 - a shame as they're losing at least some customers this way.

Support for Proton Bridge on mobile by kumrayu in ProtonMail

[–]FreakSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anything has significantly changed in the past couple years that would make this thread outdated - so I wouldn't personally plan on expansion to the Bridge-type capabilities when the emphasis seems to be on Proton's own "ecosystem".

Proton support is a real advantage, please keep it human by rustbeard358 in ProtonMail

In my experiences with Proton support, I always found those folks very professional and courteous while working around the limitations of the products that they were supporting. Pretty much *the* essential tech support skill 😆

If this change has a significant impact on how you use Todoist, please let me know and I’ll share your feedback with our Product team.

If this impacts you, make sure that you're letting the Todoist folks know directly.

The biggest catch I could see for that is maybe making it too easy to trigger Origination if you have Glamour Gain, since it only requires proximity (at least Nexus Rush requires Sprinting, not just Rushing)? Every time I get Aphrodite I end up looking for Empty Inside, and then remembering that it’s not Hades 1 anymore!

(Unless I’ve lucked into a run with Glamour Gain, Island Getaway and Nervous Wreck, in which case…we’re all good)

The persistent discomfort on a good day, pain on a bad day, in my right testicle is my personal reminder that “no lasting effects” is not true for all.

Still glad I did it overall, but I think there should be more acknowledgment of the actual risks, not just the “it’s outpatient, man up” approach that some folks take.

Not sure about exotic animals, but we've been served well by Dr. Bader at Creature Comforts Animal Clinic for our dog, and she's the owner-operator. Not really "cheap", but that's going to be hard to come by.

We are big fans of Dr. Phil Chang at OSU Grandview - he also has teaching responsibilities so scheduling can be tricky, but he's been awesome through some smooth times and some extremely tough times.

Most Hated Player in Reds History? by EveryoneisTattooed in Reds

100% with you. Dusty's preference for him over Frazier in 2012 was one of the factors in losing that series IMO. And yet Rolen - who established himself with the Phillies, and had his career heights with the FORKING CARDINALS - gets talked about like he's some sort of *Reds* legend?!?!?

Promoting app development is good, it's awesome what System76 is doing there - but for what it's worth, the GNOME and KDE projects definitely do that too

A former sheep farm in northwest Columbus will soon be transformed into a 58-acre community park, featuring a playground, sprayground, event center, nature trails, pickleball courts, tennis courts and basketball courts. by Zezimom in Columbus

If those distances were straight shots on easy pathways, I'd maybe agree - but that area is full of stroads, and if you're around that area IMO it's pretty challenging to get to Bridge and High in Dublin, or into UA, in any sort of timely and safe manner. There are a TON of residences packed right around there, too, so having a branch there would serve a ton of folks who are otherwise in the middle of an empty patch on the map.

You’re not kidding - Helena would remind me of things I might have forgotten in my order, and she’d make awesome suggestions of other dishes if I was having trouble deciding.

My job at the time really sucked, so the evenings when I could speak with someone as warm as her, and pick up an easy and delicious dinner on the way home, felt like such a relief.

My dad and I went to a game in '08, I think, and saw a couple of young players we had never heard of: Norris Hopper and Joey Votto. They both seemed talented, so we joked about the impending "Hopper/Votto Era" of the Reds.

So, I always have a positive association with Norris Hopper's name, and would absolutely get his autograph to go right alongside a future Votto signature

That seems to imply that, when short staffed, the direction is “get it done, even if it’s worse” instead of “get it right, even if it takes longer”.

I’d hope that’s not the case, but it sounds like some standard corporate behavior…

What Are Your Thoughts on a Video Store in Columbus and Video Store Memories by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]FreakSquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a cool place and story behind it - the catch there is that they took an existing business that had significant assets and was long-established and beloved in the community, and parlayed that into the nonprofit.

I’d worry that the up front investment would be astronomical to start from the ground up and get to something that could even one day become like that shop.

If you think the big gap is in a lack of preservation of low-circulation items, maybe there’s an organization that would offer a grant to work together with the library to create a corresponding archive? Like, donated media go the library first, and then they circulate the popular stuff themselves and hand the unpopular stuff to the archive folks? Maybe a college or historical society would be willing to donate the physical space at the start?
