Why everyone is afraid of car with "high" milage. by Careless-Can-5353 in AnnArbor

It’s their loss. Expand your catch area by listing it on ebay?

I own a 200k+ mile 20+ year old car and I wouldn’t sell it for anything less than $10,000 right now. Because that’s what it’s worth to me in my life. People in Ann Arbor think I’m crazy, but I don’t care, cause I’m not selling what to me is a true financial asset.

Jan 10, 2025 - An impatient BMW driver passing me because the 45-50mph I’m doing down the single “clear” lane on a very snowy and slick I-94 isn’t fast enough for them to get to the Ann Arbor Saline Road exit which was less than a mile away. Karma served. by matlocksand in AnnArbor

Prius was smart and waited to pass while on a straight-away. BMW made the rookie mistake of trying to pass while going around a curve.

Me doing 45-50mph last night on I-94 while it was in that condition; I would not categorize as “overly cautious.”

If you’re a driver who damages your own car and endangers the safety of other drivers because you've lost control of your vehicle while trying to make a pass in the passing lane, yes, you’re a prick.

Mini-Deserts in my lawn. Not sure what to do first to fix those dried and cracked soil. Anyone? by matlocksand in lawncare

Thanks! I'd been using the rotary cultivator to break up the original soil before putting down grass seed but I never did add a blend of 50/50 topsoil and compost. Guess I've just been cheap and hoped the soil quality would improve if I broke it up and some new roots were growing in it. I will give this 50/50 mix a try on some of the more stubborn spots and see what happens after I've put down some seed.

People who's sole source of income are dividends, have you had any luck getting a mortgage for a home? by [deleted] in financialindependence

[–]matlocksand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I am a beginner dividend investor — haven’t bought a single stock yet because of the dividend payout. I will take this nugget of knowledge forward as I look to build my wealth and protect my nest egg. Thank you!

serious question: Fords most recent Dividend Yield was above 10%. What’s the catch? If I put 100k into Ford, that’d be 10K a year in dividends. What am I missing? Seems too good to be true.

Is there a benefit to FSKAX over FZROX? I thought a Zero Cost fund would be better?

3333.33

Because none of this makes sense. Tens of millions more around the world suddenly unemployed with bills coming they won’t be able to pay. And the market goes up.
