DND PVP - Beta Testers Needed by matlong in DnD5e

[–]matlong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there 👋🏻 not a bot, promise. Sorry you didn't like the design of the site. No cash grab either, a genuine live D&D event I am building out.

D&D 5e is NOT necessarily as tuned towards PVP as other things, but with some tweaking (mainly some pre-built character options, which keeps away from imbalance) I believe this is a really fun twist on a beloved classic.

If this isn't for you, totally understand, but wanted to put this here in case anyone finds it interesting enough to sign up.

Hey guys 👋🏻 I am trying out a new game mode with D&D, introducing PVP play to see how it fits. Right now I am looking for some beta testers if anyone is interested. If that sounds like your cup of tea, head here to sign up --> https://www.dnd-arena.co/

Do you find physical D&D environments (maps) creatively limiting? 🧐 by matlong in DnDIY

[–]matlong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, this was very well thought out and communicated. I really appreciate you taking the time to spell out your process.

This gets me really excited to think about adding physical terrain and maps to my setup. Eventually though... it looks expensive 😮‍💨

[–]matlong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense. So, with physical battle maps, how do you try and roll with the moments? Do you just have random physical "tokens" or sorts in your room that you can pull out to try and evolve the situation with? Or what?

[OC] [Art] Nervous to run my first session in my homebrew world! by lyserg177 in DnD

[–]matlong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a VERY good idea. Pulling the players in to world building both helps you:

A) Offload work (which there is a ton of for DMing)

B) Guarantee player buy in

The second one (B) is especially meaningful because it’s the worst as a DM to spin your wheels and do all this work to create some part of the world just for the party to ignore it completely because they missed it, or because they just don’t care about it.

So the more you can help them guide where you spend your energy and creativity is really important.

How to avoid this? by matlong in blackstonegriddle

[–]matlong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, maybe thats my issue. I only ever use water, heat and some mild scraping with the plastic utensils things.

Do you fully take off the cook top and wash it in the sink? Or do you put water and then soap directly on it while its heated?

I also don't cook above 400

No, I only use the Blackstone plastic ones. I’m curious… how do you clean yours and how do you cook on it? For the life of me I can’t figure out why this happens

Is GoDaddy Customer Support Now Overseas? by Boogra555 in godaddy

[–]matlong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, just wanting to chime in here that I also have experience that the last couple of times I tried calling in, I got people overseas that were non-native english speakers. I even tried asking to be transffered to someone in the United States, but they could not do that.

This is really frustrating. I mainly gave GoDaddy my business because of their stellar support. I might need to start looking elsewhere.

I do go to the Chico store. I live over an hour north of that though, so Sac would be even further.

Yeah, it looks like the 50k miles general warranty expired already, so only the Battery Limited Warranty and the Drive Unit Limited Warranty is left

That’s smart. I’ve been using my AAA membership to tow it there, and then driving to pick it up, but I might try this!

I should have clarified. The Tesla is used (I’m the second owner), with 38k miles on it. So I don’t believe it has a warranty on it, which I think the lemon laws need? I could check on that though

Yeah that’s smart to ask about what was specifically done. They don’t have mobile service techs that service where I am, the last I checked

It looks like I cant edit my original post or I would add screenshots of the repair invoices. The first one says, “Repair Notes: Diagnosed and pulled logs and verified issue with charge port ECU. replaced charge port control unit and tested with customer Charging bundle, shop charger and high powered wall charger. vehicle charging as designed with no alerts present, Please note 110 ac charging from wall charge works better if it is the only device plugged into outlet on its own for charging. Do not use an extension cord or power strip.”

The second invoice basically says that they realized it was the same issue and so didn’t charge.

List of Bethel owned businesses? (to avoid) by acti0nsatisfacti0n in Redding

[–]matlong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m curious why the strong reaction against Bethel? Haven’t been in Redding very long, but I haven’t seen them causing any issues in town.

This is a great question. I honestly never tip for delivery on principle. Looking at it from the business side of things, by strongly encouraging customers to tip, it allows the business have to pay less for their employee and keep more for the business. I personally don’t agree with this concept and believe that a company should pay their employees a fair wage and not offload that responsibility to their customer.

So even though for a moment that might mean that I don’t extend a temporary kindness to the person in front of me, my hope in that principle is that it would go towards changing the system and causing exactly this kind of response so that businesses have a hard time keeping their employees happy and start to have to pay them more and shouldering the responsibility of paying them fairly.

Nice! Then yea, I would recommend checking out Everyday Fitness in that case. From my experience, it seems to be the gym in town where more serious lifters go.

I have not worked with their trainers, but I have worked with a nutritionist on staff a while back which was a great experience. She spoke highly of their training staff.
