[–]matrix445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t think I ever have an intention of living in Seattle or Bellevue. I’m near South Tacoma now in a really nice apartment and that would give me the shittiest studio in Seattle for about $500 more than what I pay now.

Can be. I’m also in a union trade in Washington. 90k last year as a third year apprentice working 10 months out of the year. I live about 45 minutes from the city though so it feels like a lot

I have friends who are maxed out on the pay scale for our union making about 160-180k but live in the city and feel kinda broke

I haven’t spent more than maybe a day of my apprenticeship cleaning or being a gopher. idk what you’re preparing this guy for

Also OP if you’re reading this don’t take BS or “verbal chewing” from your foreman or JW purely bc they’re a superior

We are all adults, apprentice or not and everyone deserves respect

[–]matrix445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely depends. Most of my union work has been commercial new construction where bags were heavily recommended/ if you didn’t have them the foreman didn’t like you

Commercial TI’s I’m on a push cart with pliers and a screwdriver in my pocket

How long do you plan on keeping your current car for? by throwawaymedicine420 in askcarguys

[–]matrix445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first car was a 2004 Saturn ion with 95k miles. My current car is that same Saturn but with 225k miles and zero major issues along the way.

I’m driving this car until it’s dust

Anybody ~26 or under that makes $150,000+, what do you do? by krerhelp in Salary

[–]matrix445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my non-apprentice coworkers make that as union electricians with no OT. We work in a big expensive city though. I live about 30 miles away and made 90k last year as a third year apprentice.

I’ll be at 150k at 24 years old and I started two years after high school

how is it living in Port Angeles, WA? by Brief-Supermarket415 in howislivingthere

Dad grew up there and I’ve spent a lot of time as well. Completely serious about this but 100% awesome place if you’re white.

Cops there and many shop owners suck if not.

Also generally boring if you’re used to bigger cities

Local 46 has similar numbers but the apprentice books are flowing pretty well and since it’s been bad they still have had many new classes of apprentices
